I agree. I'm not sold at all on Nazar as a top 6 center in the NHL, so if that's the case, and if the next best D is Korchinski, I'd go with Lekkerimaki if we are going with high-end winger.

I agree we’d probably take someone out of a men’s league. So either our aforementioned Swede buddy, or Marco Kasper make the most sense to me, in regards to fitting Stevie’s logic. Then again, who has any idea what the scouts have seen and fallen in like with.

OTT, is a key selection Sens fans say 2021 #1 RW Tyler Boucher is already a bust. Plus OTT passed on Sillinger too.
So a forward like Savoie may be on the Sens radar as well.
CBJ passed on Edvinsson so they may be looking for a defenseman like Jiricek if he falls to them. Also they need to fill Seth Jones vacancy from a year ago.
Detroit ? I am fine as long as it is not Kaspar, he does not project as a top 6 forward, has a minimal shot selection and does not play a physical game as many have said.
If savoie is still available at 8 he's the pick, dont think he will be a available, but he's the guy.
Would be happy with Savoie, Gauthier, or Leikerrimaki. No projects. No one that isn't a dynamic skater. Prefer a center. Size isn't an issue here. Need talent.
I wouldn't complain. Lambert's tools are tough to leave on the board though. I'm not sold on Lambert at 8, but if he's still there at 20-25, I'd be tempted to move up to grab him. I dig Frank Nazar though, I'm just not sure he'll be available.
I think people are also too high on Gauthier.
Kinda hard to snipe without a center. The Wings have truly ignored their need at center and just refused to take one. He may be a great player, but this would be a mistake.
This is not a slam dunk pick at #8. Yzerman could totally throw us and the NHL a curveball and trade up to #2 with NewJersey (who are looking to trade out of the 2nd spot) involving Bertuzzi. If theres a guy he really likes such as he did with Cossa. (Slafovsky/Cooley?) History has shown he'll go get him. So ya just never know.. And if Montreal for some unknown reason chooses Slafovsky or Cooley? Well Hello MrWright😁
