The sluggish start was to be expected, especially this early in the season making their first trip to the west coast. It certainly didn't create any real points of concern. A big part of what has been most impressive about them so far this season is that they've been able to hit challenges like this and overcome them rather than struggle and fail to cope. That is a huge part of what is going to bring them success going forward.
As for the Miles Wood scrap, yes he took a beating, but I don't personally see it as anything to be embarrassed about considering he fell early in the fight (it's ice, it happens) and then Schen continued to swing away at him while he was down, which you simply don't do. The Joshua getting involved while Wood was still on his back was pretty gutless. Wood taking it upon himself to step up and play that sandpaper game (even if it leads to him getting pounded on) is what this team needs a lot of times because NJ continues to get out-hit and can be physically pushed around if guys like Miles aren't stepping up the physicality. He clearly sparked the team after that fight and that's the result you want. As long as he doesn't get hurt in the process, the more Wood takes the reigns and throws down when it's needed, then he's doing a great deal to help the team and be a leader himself.
