  1. They can't just do nothing now, can they? I don't know what not nothing would realistically be. But to just keep dragging along like this, hoping for a turnaround, seems preposterous to me at this point.

  2. The same day as the first lost my wife asked for a divorce and we've been separated ever since. I need to work this out if for nothing else but the Pens getting out of this losing streak.

  3. I gotta say I’m getting tired of hearing Sullivan saying the same exact thing every time we lose. Do something about it then….

  4. Pittsburgh sports in general is down bad rn. Nothing seems to be going right rn. All 3 teams stink rn

  5. I don't know what to say either, Dk!

They don't know how to win, as the cliche goes. Can't believe those words are on my screen.

  6. I realize that with the salary cap issues that the Penguin’s have we are not going to see Ty Smith anytime soon to bring some youth and speed the help the defense, but the s there any chance we can make Dumoulin a healthy scratch?

  7. Sully lost the rooms weeks ago. He won't adjust. His system was fine in 16 and 17, but doesn't work in 22-23.

  8. I know you are a Petry fan, but he has been a zero so far this year. Our defense just doesn't exist right now.

  9. Chickens coming home to roost. How does the media miss in unison the impending disaster? It’s only hindsight for you, go back and read your video comments.

  10. I think hitting on the fact that it's multiple things is important. I would rank these as the issues in order from most problematic to least.

    1. Dumoulin's regression is very serious and what many of us thought was just a bad year has turned into consistent poor play. Turnovers and defensive miscues are abundant with him.
    2. Petry is not nearly as good as advertised and has taken 8 minor penalties in a very young season, more than double the next guy. He hasn't impressed at all and despite Matheson not even playing yet for Montreal, I'm tempted to say they won this trade. He's been bad.
    3. The Sully system of quick transition from D to O and aggressive forecheck. When you're giving up odd-man rushes and your D could use some help, you might want to change your system. Plays some boring trap hockey, wait for your opportunity. You're not winning track meets anymore with this team, at least not over a full 60. They have been able to score in bursts, but they're not at an age where thats's sustainable. Bufallo is young, fast, and talented. I feel like the Pen's are still trying to "out fast" the other team. It isn't 2016-2017. It's okay to admit that you don't have young legs anymore.
    4. Effort. There were times as DK mentioned that guys were buying in, skating back hard, giving it there all. And this team is full of proud guys who care, so I won't say that they don't, but watch Letang on the icing at the end of the game when the scored the first empty netter. He was barely skating and then the Buffalo player outskated him to the icing and whipped it into the empty net making it a 2-goal lead. That was all heart by their and Letang's casual approach cost them a chance at tying it with the goalie pulled (though I understand it's unlikely), but that's a microcosm of this team. Where is the pushback from previous years? They dont' have answer shifts, where they tilt the ice back the other way. Once a team starts pouring it on, I just think, "it's only a matter of time before the damn breaks and then it's over." As soon as they got within 1, I knew they were losing. They couldn't tilt the ice back.

  11. This is now a spiritual battle for the players, in my opinion. No amount of tweaking will resolve the underlying deep issues here. The leaders in the room (coaches, but including players) need to tell all the players to go home and do this: take at least thirty minutes and sit quietly and meditate. Quiet the mind and focus inward. The issue with these players is WITHIN THEMSELVES. Not play like this, play like that. They need to get to the bottom and recalibrate.
Fix everything there is to fix at home, and come to the rink re centered and do what needs to get done.

  12. Only hope we have is that Sullivan can get these guys to play the right way… I Can not even imagine starting 4-0 and then ending up where we are… This is so awful and depressing. Then the Steelers are terrbile… It seems that there is not too much to be excited about right now. Something has to change!!! Everyone knows it and it applies to both teams, loyalty is admirable but only goes so far in sports until it starts to hurt the team. Just something to think about??
