  1. There no way they are missing yam he should of been traded leafs put wande on waveris

  2. The price for theses guys is way too high.there have to be dmen that are just as good for half the price

  3. I wish all pundits would just quit this Chychrun talk. It's just soooo boring. 1) Oilers are up against the cap and can't afford him. 2) He's as fragile as candy glass and has only played 1 game all year (being a minus 1). 3) AZ is asking for way too much and that price can be paid to get a much better player. 4) Any team willing to pay that price would have to be desperate, and what message would that send to the players on that team.

You're better off talking about the chance of a miracle happening and Klefbom coming off LTIR, but online pundits are too lazy to track him down for an interview.

  4. We dont need fancy high price D. Just gritty fast puck movers. We already have Nurse with 9m price which boggles my mind. We could have got 2 good D for that.

  5. Hold on WHY would the Oilers get another broken down players ! Oilers have two broken down players all ready with Jesse .

  6. No thanks to chychrun, reeves would be interesting but haven’t seen him play in a while makes me wonder why he’s been scratched in NY…. Stay away from Karlsson….

  7. I think the price for the big names are just too much right now.

But if our scouting department can accurately find those diamonds in the rough. Guys who are a great deal at their current price points.

Really we need our guys right now to preform how we expected them to. They got the pieces to be much better than they are right now.

  8. Bob seemed more curious about Chychryn from Seravalli’s eyes on. Bob had been on the Reeves trade two days in a row though.

I’m not sure Chychryn (-47) is what is needed. Or Karlsson (-75). We already have Barrie (-59) as a top 10 point per game offensive dman type who lets lots in like these two. He might be better the Chychryn.

What we need most is our guys to play their top game consistently, then a shutdown D man and then a gritty player that is bottom 6.

I’m still liking Soucy. I guess that ship sailed though with his Oilers jersey being tossed. (+50) shutdown type who also brings some grit and is a value contract.

Don’t know much on Reeves but if Kane and him can get along he seems like he’s tough. Just not sure on what he’ll do to the locker room. Not sure if he’s a good fit. I foresee him and Kane filling a similar role and unsure about them together.

  9. Karlsson is a super risky proposition for any team. What happens when he cools down again or God forbid gets injured again

  10. I would prefer Chykeran over Karlson any day . Kostin has been a bright spot and I hope he continues. I would take Reaves as well. Need toughness . Something has to change. Keep the vids rolling.

  11. If Karlsson comes means nurse goes. I'm my eyes you do that. Nurse is no way near the 9.25 he's worth

  12. what i DONT understand is holland stated after the playoffs that they needed to address size and toughness. what happened? did he lie and just tell us what we wanted to hear?

  13. Looks like Kevin Lowe is back at the helm with this list of desperation…no thanks to all.

  14. Better to gets Reeves .. Oilers need strong right and center

  15. Alternating between winning and losing following the 3 game losing streak that started against those same Devils back in Edmonton is not what I call consistent. If we want to free up on cap space, I would start by trying to move the contracts of Klefbom and Smith. They expire at the end of this season, with both most likely not returning to the NHL and announcing their retirements during the off-season. Oilers may have to add a draft pick or prospect in order to get a taker, but that's a start.
After that, I would look at the defensive core and try to bring a defensive defenceman into the picture. Again, may involve having to move a prospect or a key piece on the roster, but should be manageable. Seattle sent Shane Wright down to the AHL, but they're in a good position to make the playoffs, so I don't know if they would be willing to part with Adam Larsson in exchange for a forward prospect but that's up to Ron Francis.
On forward, I heard rumours about adding Patrick Kane or Tarasenko to the Top 6 to fill the hole left by Evander Kane's injury. Puljujarvi and Yamamoto haven't done a whole lot and seem like dead weight on the team so far. Puljujarvi is set to become an RFA after this season while Yamamoto becomes an RFA after next season, both eligible for arbitration. I doubt the Oilers can move both guys but moving one of them might be doable. We'll have to see if they can pick up their game before Holland has to make that decision. Malone, Shore, maybe Derek Ryan and Foegele, are other forwards the Oilers could deal if other teams are willing to take them.
On defence, I think only Murray and Niemelainen would gain interest from other teams that the Oilers would be willing to trade. We'll have to see how things go between now and Christmas break, and where the Oilers sit in the standings at that point before we can debate on who we think stays and who we think goes.

  16. Nobody wants karlsson. We want to be better at defence. He’s strictly good and offence and sucks at defence. He’s just not even a thought

  17. Karlsson seems pretty risky especially at that cap. I think Reaves would be a great addition but I still think we need help on D also. Reaves has a low cap hit and shouldn’t be too expensive in a trade. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Soucy or Chychrun in Edmonton. I’d prefer Soucy as he’s bigger, lower cap hit, and he’s a really solid dman.
