Everything in my gut is telling me to trade weegar resign marchment and just let g and chiarot walk maybe sign another 6d rental because i believe after a 4×4 at worst we would still have a mil to spend or just ltir duke

Hornqvist and gudas competely changed this teams attitude when they came in and now they want him gone not to mention q would work him on brunos panthers he was a bench dweller see how coaching changes things
You’re not accounting for Levtchi he’s gonna play top 6 mins, they should trade Bennett and Hornqvist, sign giroux and a marchment, play giroux at his normal C position with huby and Levtchi on his wings, keep the dominant 3rd line and have Schwindt play 4th line
And id agree asset management wise Bennett is the correct choice at C

Actually, Eric, I think you nailed it. My thinking was Bob(50%) + Bennet (Not Weegar). And yes, the centre position is overflowing. that's 9 mil. in cap space. To sign G as a second centre. + get someone in free agency + kids + Marchment if you want him. Duclair goes on ltir regardless. Zito could trade him away at deadline if anything, so that's not an issue at the moment. Hornqvist goes up the line up to the 3rd line. He was underutilized last season.

Not a fan of sacrificing defense for more offense. Before giroux came over we were fine. You know horny is gonna get bought out. Marchment is not worth 4mill. And if he wants that much then let him walk we can get a cheaper guy with smilar stats
The team you’re describing cannot win a cup. If this is what happens, Bill Zito is one step closer to being out of town.
Also, Bennet is more valuable for his money than Hornqvist is for his. $5 million on a 37 year old with diminishing skills is ridiculous. I like Hornqvist but Bennett is a better player. We are trying to win the cup, not protect Patric’s feelings.
Aside from the Oilers kicking tires on Weegar, there is absolutely no chatter about us on Twitter, or any of the Hockey rumor sites. Shit doesn' t just materialize out of thin air. So unless Zito has one hell of a trick up his sleeve, probably losing all UFAs and filling spots with Rookies.
1st: you can have less than 23 players but you have to have 20 dressed for a game.
2nd: regardless if you have Marchment 4 years for 16 million, the cap hit would be $4 million even if you gave him a graduated salary. The cap hit is the annual average value of the contract.
As long as Weegar goes… We can win a Cup. Unless he takes bare minimum salary (clearly he won't)

About the "Bennett Situation" ; I am not exactly opposed to that idea… he did WHAT EXACTLY for us in playoffs??? Although it's a risky move, at the time it was considered a risk to trade for Bennett in the first place.
I’m sorry but Marchment, Giroux, and Chariot are all walking for more money in 2 days. I would love to keep all 3 but I’m being a realist. Panthers can’t afford even 1 of them. Someone is going to pay Marchment 4.5 mil a year. Someone is going to pay Giroux 7 mil a year. And someone will pay 6 mil a year for Chariot. If you think any of those 3 aren’t taking that for a home town discount to purposely stay in Florida is nuts. They are all good as gone already. Wishful thinking ain’t going to change the truth of what’s about to occur in free agency. You heard it here first.
I think Giroux should go honestly. I was not impressed with him at all. Chariot I'd like to keep if possible.

There's so many possibilities with players that could be moved it's going to be bittersweet to see what happens over the next few days. I have faith in Zito doing what needs to be done with as little collateral damage as possible. I wouldn't be shocked to see guys like Horny, Marchment, Acciari and Weegar not return. All that matters is what we're able to do with the money as far as resigning and bringing potential players in.
I’m a Lundell guy, you know this, but I am 1000% against trading Bennett right now. Absolutely not.

Great job, Jaws. But let me say this, Marchment's crazy charging style – that is an injury risk. I would keep Bennett if I had to choose between the two. Also, I think Bennett is one of our most physical forwards, which has been somewhat of a weakness for the Cats. Let Giroux and maybe Chiarot go, and bring up whoever else you have. Hoepoemini, Schwindt, etc.
