  1. RIP franco Harris I was a child in the late 70's this group's of Steelers made me a Steeler fan lifer

  2. I'm struggling to process this news even now. I must admit that between The Ramon Foster Show episode and this Show tonight, well lets just say I'm fairly emotional. I expect that watching footage of the game and associated events will be equally difficult. I couldn't ask for a better commentary to listen to tonight though. Thank you.

  3. I’m not saying this just because I’m a Steelers fan, but in this sad situation it’s so beautiful all the love this man is receiving in his death. But it makes me smile knowing and seeing how much love and respect he received from fans and the Steelers organization while he was alive. RIP to a great man.

  4. R i p Franco you will be missed. We lost a great man a great stealer. You nailed this one DK great show

  5. Thanks Dk. I was looking forward to the Jersey retirement celebration, now it's an extra layer of sadness on top of hearing this bad news. Although it is nice to see steeler's nation come together and remember a legend, I was hoping under better circumstances.

  6. I became a Steelers fan when I was 10 or 11. I was in Toronto; my brother-in-law (6 yrs older and a Dallas fan) was watching the game that was on that day (there was no other games to watch back then) . The game that was on was Oakland v Pittsburgh… I watched in awe of Jack Lambert and quickly became enamoured with the grace and toughness of Franco, he ran so tall, so fast for a big man. I decided that day to become a Steelers fan and have been for the last 50 or so years. Thanks for this little girls memories Franco! RIP

  7. High diddle diddle, Franco up the middle!! – Don Meredith, Monday night Football

  8. DK, I have commented on this channel as we as the Ramon Foster show. I have even received a couple of replies from both you and Ramon because I truly have enjoyed your work. I have be honest that I was a bit disappointed and bothered by the video you did on Franco a few months ago. I respect your right to disagree with him on the two points you made, but he was so much more than just those two points. I had to reconcile within myself that DK is so much more than his stance on Franco that I did not agree with. I think all the out pouring from so many is showing that Franco was so much more than a football player. He was a man that made a huge impact on this world. I was a teenager during the run in the 1970s and I remember the commentary on the Steelers during the first 2 Super Bowls was if you slow down Franco you can beat the Steelers because everything he gained 100 yards they won. During the next 2 Super Bowls, the rules changed, so Noll reverted to more passing, but Franco remained a key. After all of that greatness on the field, turns out he was a greater person to so many. DK, I appreciate what you did this morning.

  9. Franco was always a Steeler. Franco gave them an actual weapon on offense. Swann and Stallworth and the maturing of Bradshaw gave them a complete offense.
I'm glad you are finally letting your problem with him go.

  10. Franco was my football hero, my favorite Steeler and athlete any sport… I loved him since I was 5 years old and he was my everything growing up… I had the opportunity to meet him when my wife won a Hines Ward raffle to the Dancing With The Stars finals… I spoke with him for 15 minutes, he would have given me an hour… he was everything you would want your childhood hero to be, everything… May God Bless his family. Rest In Power Franco you will be missed.

  11. You realize no one can understand the replay interview snips you put on. RIP Franco. You are a hero in the true sense of the word.

  12. Realizing that you had some non football issues with Franco, you have handled his passing with the expected class I expected. Thank you for your eloquence.

  13. I was born in 1978, so I wasn't around when the great Franco Harris drove the ball down the field to lead the Steelers to their first playoff win. But years later when I was five years old. The Steelers success in the 70s was still echoing through the football world. I remember asking my grand father who was the best team. He told me best team of all is the Steelers. Because they had achieved more then any other team in the league. From that moment on I became a fan.. Harris was always my favorite growing up.. watching the old games became like a holiday tradition in my house. 32 was my first jersey and I display it on my wall to this day. RIP Franco. You will truly be missed

  14. My Dad passed away. He got me to become a Steelers fan. I remember the 77 Superbowl. I don’t ever remember there being a better team. Now that Franco has passed, it just brings back the passing of my father. RIP Franco, RIP Dad.😢

  15. Franco was the unofficial Mayor of Pittsburgh for the last 50 years. He will be missed.

  17. Beautiful show DK. I wasn’t around the immaculate reception. I’m from Florida. I’m a Steelers fan because of the hard work and kindness mentality. That’s how my father and mother act. What kind of world would we have if everyone worked hard and showed kindness? RIP Franco

  18. DK, that's what's up, you spoke so inspiring about the great Franco Harris. I love you for that 👍 when I was just a lad, Franco and Walter Payton we're God's to me. Also I was in his presence on numerous occasions . He came to just about every public school in Pittsburgh and spoke of excellence and perseverance and he carried himself with much class. #32 forever
    Rest with God Franco.

  19. I have some issues with 32 but not today. Not the time for anything but the best wishes for his family and gratitude for all of the positive things he did do in his time here.

  20. Thank you for being so respectful to Franco I know you weren't his biggest fan

  21. I think you nailed it with Kapenen Dan. I think he is a victim of being so highly skilled in so many ways..He has too many options…I;ve seen this playing and coaching/teaching another sport. I dont know that turning him into a hitter is the way however..You dont see Phil Kessel out there banging on anyone. As far as his shot goes…he definitely has an impressive looking shot..but is it an accurate shot? he is definitely not of the sniper ilk. He needs to shoot more from different places I think.

  22. I love the immaculate reception which was clearly one of the best plays in the NFL ever! But my most memorable moment about Franco Harris,Pittsburgh was playing Dallas in the Super Bowl and Hollywood Henderson had some words for Bradshaw and Franco stepped in his face the very next play Franco ran the ball straight up the middle for a touchdown with Henderson diving at his feet. You didn’t mess with Bradshaw and you sure wasn’t going to mess with Lynn Swann because Franco would lose it. I love this man I imitated him in high school football and wore my 32 Proudly! RIP FRANCISCO HARRIS AKA FRANCO.

  23. I remember listening to Penn State under JOPA with Franco and Lydell Mitchell in the backfield and cheering at all the success they had. Then watching him and the team rise from mediocrity to champions in the 70’s was also very stirring and I often go back to watch those games on YouTube with a great deal of satisfaction, especially when my day isn’t going well. Watching Franco make something out of nothing then turning on those jets when he got in the clear always was an uplift. And certainly after he retired and was so visible in the community with his charitable works and friendly personality. This was truly a GENTLEman who, though soft spoken, was clearly and meaningfully heard and respected. He was a gladiator who’s attitude is sorely missed today.

  24. Maybe Mr. Rooney knew something about Franco that nobody else knew except for his family. And that's why they Retired his Jersey and I remember that you Trashed him. And like Mr. MEAN JOE said We Never Won before Franco and we never won after FRANCO. R.I.P. 32 MR ITALIAN ARMY 🪖. WHAT HAPPENED????? I still haven't heard anything!!!!!

  25. Having a death in my family on the exact same day at only 45 my brother in law and best friend… DK I know you had your differences with Franco but you put on an amazing episode that hit the heart and every word that you just spoke was well thought and genuine this is why I listen to you and Hey Mon every day because I love the rhetoric and I love the insight you bring… you keep my mind flowing and once again weather I agree with you or not DK Pittsburgh Sports sheds light on things for me and I appreciate every bit of it… thank you brother

  26. Mr Harris#32 you have been an inspiration and a true hero amongst us all thank you and God bless the Harris family rest in peace Franco.

  27. Thank you DK for this episode. I was fortunate enough to have met Franco and had a picture taken with him that I will treasure. He was so cordial to my daughter and I when we asked to have that picture taken with him. Thanks again pal.
