  1. As a pens fan, there’s no denying ovi is the best goal scorer we have ever seen. I know he’s not up to Gretzky yet, but it’s way harder to score in todays game than it was in the 80s and 90s. Congrats ovi. I’m glad I can be witnessing history.

  2. This is the stuff I never thought was possible as a kid that started following the Caps after the 04 draft. To grow up watching and to be a fan of a living legend is a dream. I don’t cry over sports often, but the cup and goal record would be enough to make me bawl for days

  3. Such class from Winnipeg. Ovi’s journey to 800 goals is something that probably won’t be seen again for a long time, if ever.

  4. Представляю какие эмоции у Ови, Легенда меняет историю!
I can imagine what emotions Ovi has, The legend changes history!

  5. I respect how Ovi didn't want to pot another empty netter. And you can kind of see his point. The Howe tying goal could make a cool highlight. The Howe surpassing goal is a hide your face in your hands because it's embarrassing to be gifted the goal that passes a legendary mark.

If they keep dishing to Ovi for the empty netters then I'd wager someone is going to start a stats page that tallies the gimme goals vs. the legit goals (of which he has plenty; no need for all the gifts fellas)

  6. This Ovechkin kid is the real deal, he’s going to have a great career.

  7. You just don't see something like this for a goal, but such class. They know it's history. Why not enjoy it and congratulate the man. Well done Jets

  8. Extremely classy of the Jets. Big respect. We're all just a big hockey family at the end, and greatness has to be respected. Still remember when Selänne made a return to the Jets with Ducks. Brings a tear to my eye. Classy fanbase, classy team.

  9. Pretty sure that's the only time I've ever seen two competing hockey teams share a genuine all-in handshake and congratulations!

Every other time I've watched the lines go past it has had undertones of aggression or dislike, mixed in with a few always-polite players. Sometimes the lines look like they will throw down when they're supposed to shake hands, lol.

But there was nothing but pure glowing admiration coming from that entire lineup, not a blip of animosity, jealousy, or even disinterest. Kudos to every one of them. That was a great display of sportsmanship, and will look good in the history books.
