1. Hello. Speaking of trades they say the best trades are the one where you give up no roster players to make the upgrade trade. Isles can't really do that kind of trade. I still say player for player is the best option in isles case. They still have mayfield/varly as ufa's they could move. Some team may run into injuries on d or in net and get desperate. Of course they wont get you an all star package but may get isles a few picks they could dangle in a trade. The problem is lou may not wait that long if he is using 5-7 games to gauge this team. Chychrun's name is out there in rumour mill again. Az. wants two firsts and a top prospect. No way isles are in that one. They are out of meier deal as well. Still gotta look at the ufa route as best scenario. I would love kane yet hawks will ask a lot for kane as a team will pay big for the kane of 2015 so i don't see that one going down. Tarasenko may still be best bet. Just now back from injury-multiple shoulder surgeries-31. Blues may not get anything near what they want for vt. And he could be second option for teams that don't get a kane, meier, or other top forward. Could a future second and prospect do it? What about St. L native mayfield in a deal? ufa for ufa. If bolduc is ready mayfield can be moved. Or is bolduc being showcased like raty was? There are a few trade routes isles could take. Not the best odds isles can get another top sixer. Lots of crazy things by crazy gm's happen at tdl. And hall the top ufa two years ago went for a second/mid tier prospect. Of course a lousy year, nmc, and desire to play for b's got hall cheap for sweeney. Or maybe lou has a deal no one sees coming like the arnott/mckay for neiuwendyk/langenbrunner trade he made for nj with stars and helped win '03 cup for nj. Lou also picked up mogilny for morrison/pederson. A deal that helped nj win '00 cup. Both key deals for devil cup runs were player for player. He got kovi too but that was a multiple player deal plus a first/second as well. Even tho devils gave up a lot in that deal (a deal made with cane gm waddell) they really didn't give up much-bergfors disappointed with dev's, cormier never panned out for thrash. Only oduya was serviceable later for hawks cup teams. Then lou circumvented the cap to re-sign kovi. NJ originally lost that first round pick then had it re-instated for the '13 draft in nj. The pick that turned into bo horvat. Talk about irony. Lets see if lou has the acumen to pull off a similar type deal. Plus he has injured, disappointing wahlstrom who may have little trade value by now to use in a trade. Good show.

  2. The montages on the scoreboard should end with that OT winner in game 6…when he picked Cernaks pocket👍

  3. Gd morning Gil. That was great to see Barzy so happy after that Bo goal. Matt is the engine on this team and hopefully we finally got something that brings out the best in him. Bo seems to understand Matt’s ability and commented on how he has to “expect the unexpected” with regards to plays Matt will send his way. Let’s hope this chemistry goes like it seems. Welcome Bo Horvat! … and Ty to Anthony (Beau) & Aatu. Will miss you.

  4. They should maybe go after an aggressive checking forward. A replacement for clutterbuk. His forcheck will be sorely missed. Have to keep size in the metro division

  5. If the Isles had a viable backup goalie min the AHL, trading Varly could net a bunch of prospects and/or picks. A desperate contender would pay a lot, but wouldn't give up a top forward while they are making a run. Mayfield is the one guy I can see being moved for a guy like Tarasenko as a pure rental. It would be a real risk with his injury history, which he is just coming back from. If Lou feels confident in Bolduc, and there is good reason to be, why sign Mayfield longterm? Use Salo as the 7th. I like Mayfields minutes, but he'll never be more than a 3rd pairing defenseman with the Isles.
If Barzal and Horvat get cooking and the other guys pick up the scoring, the Isles are true contenders. If Holmstrom and Bolduc get hot, the Isles are a real threat to Boston and Lou should take the long view and stand pat. We'll see.

  6. Tonight’s gonna be a whole lotta fun… please everyone going give Anthony a big round of applause and let him feel the love we all have for him… he didn’t choose to go, he was traded. He loved it here so let’s show him we loved having him for the time that we did
