One of my favorite memories of Dustin Brown is the hit he put on one of the Sedin twins in Vancouver in the first round of the 2012 playoffs, I still can see him clawing at the boards to get up on his feet. It was a clean hit, no penalty on the hit. I've always felt that hit set the tone for the rest of the playoffs and our first Cup Championship. I loved it, I still do.
I think the kings r going to finish the rest of the season strong there going to b a healthy team soon hopefully and if blake makes any additions it will b a bonus but with this little layoff I feel the kings knows its getting tight and there going to bring it 💯 GKG 👍😎
For those who haven’t heard, Pheonix Copley signed a 1 year, $1.5 mil contract extension. Great signing for Blake.
Jesse at All the Kings Men podcast put out an episode yesterday where Brown was VERY candid about how he felt about it, and it was incredible to listen to.
Also, Kings of the Podcast spoke to Dean Lombardi (released today) and he discussed it too. A lot more clarity around it now, a more intriguing answer to why he did it and what he regrets about it.
A surprising amount of honesty surrounding all of this in the past few days from the key players involved. Both worth a listen. Everyone comes out easier to understand and respect.
I heard from dean Lombardi on the kings of the podcast it wasn't intended to be a demotion for brown with the removal of the C. He said it was more of to get kopitar to take his game to the next level. It was really nice hearing a lot of the explanation with the actual voice. Really good listen.
Dustin Brown epitomized what it meant to be a King hard work, hard hits and heartache for the opposition. My favorite memories of Brownie are the hit on Henrik, the cup being hoisted and Dustin asking "where's Bob" while holding the cup
With an honorable mention to the night he got hit in the face with the puck and just exploded his upper lip, absolutely gruesome looking injury and he got stitched up and back into the game about 15 min later tough as nails, another is when he scored a hat trick and caught 1 of the hats before it hit the ice in mid stride put it on his helmet and skated down the line that was just cool
