Disney did make the Mighty Duck movies also created our franchise. I wish it was us…. It would make more sense. But Disney has been into hockey before

Matthews is well known to be a song and dance man so of course he’s gonna be on Disney. The NHL was his backup plan after he didn’t make it on Broadway.

My dad doesn’t watch sports but he’s watching this. He also really relates to the grandma from Big City Greens though. I’m excited too! My nephew is ready for it. He’s only watched hockey with me at my parents house. They’re getting the audience they aimed for.

I’ve always heard good thinks about the Nickelodeon broadcast for the NFL, I’m down to see how this appeals to younger kids. I question the matchup they picked though, as Caps Rangers games aren’t the most G rate of rivalries.
Not sure if anyone else noticed. But Saturday or Sunday I was putting on cartoons for my niece. And Amazon prime was showing a couple games.
I never clicked on it or anything. But it was the Devils Canadian game. There was another game on after that too.

Hi OP, I see you’re responding to many negative comments about the broadcast reminding them that the original broadcast will still be available and they are not obligated to watch the animated Disney version. My question for you is what about this animation appeals to you? Is there something about it that is preferable to watching live action hockey? Genuinely curious.

As an NHL fan, understandably it’s been frustrating dealing with the streaming services, blackouts etc. going on this season don’t get me wrong… but I’m quite surprised to see how upset people are about this event.
Let’s just take a deep breath & remember this animated game….it’s for the kids, the younger generation, the next superstars that could come into this league. The NHL didn’t put this together with the idea of adults being the main audience.
Personally, I know kids who have had no previous interest in watching sports, especially hockey, but have been so excited & talking non-stop about watching this game.
Think back to the first time you were introduced to hockey, you know that was a life changing moment for you. Growing up as a hockey fan has been one of the most exciting things I have experienced. I can’t imagine what life would be like if I wasn’t introduced to hockey.
Is an animated NHL game corny? Sure haha, but I think if this brings in even a few new families or kids as NHL fans it’s a win.
Who knows, maybe the next Gretzky or McDavid type of superstar is out there but hasn’t been exposed to hockey yet. Think about it, where would all of these NHL stars over the years be today if they were never introduced to hockey in the first place.
TLDR: Let’s just remember this is an event for the younger generation to spread the game of hockey. As silly as it sounds watching this animated game it could be the life changing moment for a kid who just wants to go pick up a stick & shoot pucks like they saw the characters do on tv.
