it's not really great, I read that even after the game he was still unbalanced and stuff.
Reaves said after the game that this specific one got him way stronger than he thought and that he nearly puked twice and still had a headache.

It seems to effect people differently. My dad once brought a bunch of the little stick kind home and my whole family tried them. It ranged from me finding it kind of pleasant if a bit strong to one of my sisters reacting like Reeves here.

My best friend's brother in law is a beer league hockey player, one day we were helping him move and he before we made the lift on this big ass dresser he pulled out some smelling salts. He had the typical reaction, my buddy did a Reaves and spit up, it just made my eyes water.
In a Blues game I went to a few years back I saw Reaves using those and he was trying to get Tarasenko to take a whiff and they both violently shook their heads and were acting pumped up and ready for the game to start.😂

Smelling salts are made of ammonium carbonate. Ammonium carbonate spontaneously decomposes into ammonia gas and ammonium bicarbonate. The sudden shock of the scent can cause limited wakefulness, maybe a quick jolt of adrenaline, but is mostly placebo.
I haven't tried smelling salts but I have opened an unlabeled bottle of ammonia and smelt it, not sure if that's similar or not but it gave me an unpleasant shock.
Fighters on other teams should take note, put smelling salts in your gloves to marinate them, so that when you drop your gloves to fight Reeves, one whiff of your hands and you'll be able to land a few clean shots.
