is it just me or does it seem we are getting more goals from our D since Barrie was moved?
Ekholm would likely make any defenceman he's partnered with on the Oilers look fantastic. How would Ceci's stats look when paired with Ekholm?
Play Bouchard with Kulac or Nurse, not saying he'd play badly, but you'd get a more realistic metric. If Ekholm played the entire season with the Oilers he very well could have been a Norris candidate.
He's also freed up Nurse from having to do absolutely everything.

Legitimate top pairing but woodcroft has put them in the lineup as the 2nd pairing several times and I think once as the bottom pairing and its starting to piss me off. They need to be the sole top pairing. Do the flipping and trialing with the other two pairings but those two need to stay top pairing period
We got Ekholm back in a more temperate climate for a Viking!

we need to Do a Petition for All Canadian Teams so there Longer Contracts who are foreigners can buy houses to have there wife kids or girlfriends Comfortable and Less pressure on them to perform so its not always in the back of there heads we stopped the foreign buyer policy due to people laundering money i dont see a professional athlete in the nhl laundering money they should be exempt if anything they got more eyes on there money and financial advisors looking after it i dont think it would be possible too many eyes i would like to see Ekholm get a House in Edmonton and Any other Oiler who has a 3 or more year contract and is Foreign national Born

Bouch still needs to work on his skating and defensive awareness imo. He's becoming a top 4dman, but I wouldn't say he's a solid top 2 dman.

This was a perfect storm. The Oilers needed another elite D man that specializes in the grind minutes and the PK. Mattias Ekholm has been a solid guy in Nashville, but Josi, Ellis, Weber, and Subban often overshadowed his stellar play because his role was to shut it down, not score. He’s been interviewed more times since the trade deadline than he was in 12 years in Nashville. Ek is enjoying the bigger role, and he hasn’t shot the puck like this since 2018. Good trade for Ek and the Oilers.
Ekholm and Bouchard should be the 1st pairing. Nurse and Ceci should be the 2nd pairing.
Ekholm is what you get when you mix Klefbom and Nurse.
