Trade Yamamoto and a pick or high draft prospect for a 2/3rd line dman. Yams is 3.1 mil a year for 1 more year it’s not a bad contract for a team looking to add a hard working 3rd line winger and if oilers sweeten it with a 1st round pick they could get a decent 2/3rd defenceman and they could even trade out or buy out a contract like devin shore to add a bit more cap space and then call up Dylan Holloway to replace Yamamoto. Oilers weakness is defence and this is the only trade I could see the oilers making that would actually make the team better.
Ceci , Yams , McLeod , Janmark , Foegele , Campbell should all be on the market . Outside of Janmark and McLEod , the rest are overpaid for what they contribute offensively or defensively in Ceci’s case . Janmark and McLeod are just offensive black holes .
Get rid of everyone connected to Lowe for starts.. then create more plays… the slingshot zone enterance from McDavid didnt work so why do that 100 times ffs. As all these millionaire players leave Edmonton until fall remember a night out with you gf to watch a game is $600.00… why spend that for a team that is gone when they arent at work.
Bouchard's shot, is not worth his comical levels of liability in puck handling, or near zombielike defensive play. I've never seen a guy lose the puck to nobody, so many times in a game, on such a consistent level.

Yamo needs to go down to the third line, move Kostin up. I don’t like McLeod and Ceci. Just have Broberg step up which he can and maybe Markus N is ready for next year? Also have Holloway coming back so trading Yamo and Ceci for picks would be good enough and give 5 million in Cap space for Bouchard?
To me trade Ceci and Yamamoto, even i am a Yamamoto fan but he needs to be traded, and lower Nurse's money and give him reasonable price cause this year Nurse is not worth 9.5 million

can I ask a question to you guys? I don't know how contracts work, but I heard MacKinnon talking about taking a reduced salary because he wants to win something. Is it possible for say McDavid and Draisatl to reduce their contracts, or anybody, mid -contract? Can a player go to the team and say "I'm on 12m until 2025, lets sign a new contract now for 8m". Whether someone would do that is a totally different question, I just want to know is it within the rules???
Oilers should trade Campbell and some additional picks or prospects for Hellebuyck. He has a similar cap hit as Campbell, he wants out of Winnipeg. Edmonton needs a proven playoff performer goalie that can steal games. Hellebuyck can do that and has done that to Edmonton. There is no point in keeping Campbell around as a backup at 5 million. Skinner might be the guy in the future, but we need goaltending now, we don’t want to gamble again next post season.

Your bigger problem is Nurse at $10m per and a # 3-4 pairing.
They have no cap room. The nurse contract is one one the worst ever.
