He did very well for a 22 year old thrown right into the playoffs with little experience, especially in that Rangers series. Very impressed with him. I think he's the goalie of the future, needs a little more seasoning. Much like Brodeur when he played as a rookie in the 91-92 playoffs, and then two years he was a star.
Proud of Akira and what he accomplished this year. He emulates Brodeur is so many ways and if he can sharpen his skills he can easily be the next starter for a very long time. Finished playoffs with a 2.3ish GAA and .920 save %, 2 so's. Absolutely solid. Just needs to work on consistency.
Akira, looking back on this season one of my favorites was the OT win against the sens. I was there for that home game where you were thrown in late in the third. Huge saves in overtime, where they had a power play, and haula's stick broke and you were an absolute wall. The place was erupting and to come out with a power play of our own. A chefs kiss clapper from dougie (I think it deflected of nico) the place was ROCKINNNNNN. Thank you so much for everything this season.

Idk if he can be a legit #1 but man im really impressed by what he did this playoffs. Definitely a keeper.
