En regardant les statistiques de base du joueur, il apparaît comme un joueur solide mais pas extraordinaire. Au cours de ses premières années, ses points par saison étaient dans les années 40-50 avec un sommet de 56 au cours de la saison 2013-2014. Des chiffres solides pour un joueur D mais cette année-là, Duncan Keith avait le plus de points cette saison avec 61. Je ne déteste pas le gars si je pouvais être surpayé, mais je trouve bizarre que Nashville lui ait donné un contrat aussi lourd et pour 14 ans ! Les points ne sont pas tout bien sûr, donc je me demande s’il y a un détail qui me manque ici.

I think they paid for his physical presence but also goal scoring (ten +15 goal seasons). So it wasn’t only hard slapper. Keith never reached 15-goal plateau.
But yes, in hindsight, the contract wasnt worth it
To give more context to the deal, Weber signed an offer sheet from the Flyers which Nashville matched. It was an excessive, swing for the fences move by Paul Holmgren who structured the deal to have large signing bonuses and a crazy term in order to scare Nashville away from matching it. There were a lot of crazy-ass contracts pre 2013 lol
Definately not. Made his deal in the right time. Avg salary per year is pretty ok. Future defensmens with his talent will earn much more. And he was in my opinion one of the best dman in his prime.
Look over to the right at salary maximums and estimated earnings from previous. His earnings were on par with the forwards and centers but his cap is half of the centers and forwards on the list. He signed on at the right time with that bonus but he is far not the highest paid player on the ice day to day and is paid fairly, he just locked in his contract at the right time.
