I have little hope for this Leafs team this coming season as long as core 4 is still around. Four of the softest players who've ever laced up a pair of skates. There's no will, no grit, no fight, no determination from this core. This plus suspect goaltending and defense are a recipe for disaster season after season. They're not going anywhere unless they alter the DNA of this team. Top end talent up front isn't cutting it. Hasn't been for a while and never will. Just look at Florida. That's a team full of character players. That's how to win in the playoffs.

Since Auston and William love playing for Sheldon so much, it was important for Treliving to bring him back which will improve the likelihood of both superstars resigning long term. After that mission is accomplished, Brad can fire Keefe at the first losing streak and replace him with Gerard “I took Vegas to the Stanley Cup Final” Gallant who is being paid for two more seasons by the NY Rangers.
