He’s been screwed by his team for years. It’s amazing that his career stats are still respectable playing behind this clown car of a team; 2.89GAA and .917 S% should fetch him a good amount of interest from other teams. I’d think he’d have to take a bridge deal with cap strapped teams though.

I’m just surprised it’s taken this long… Guy must have an iron back, carrying this team for as long as he has.
It’s hard to screw over a team when (even with him) they’re going to lose the vast majority of their games.

He’s the only good part about the team this past year. The fact that they missed out on Bedard too, Anaheim is going to be a shell of the lifeless corpse they were last year. As an Anaheim fan it stings but I can’t blame him.

If they trade him for another elite goalie, then not really. However it’s unlikely they’ll get an elite goalie in return for someone who is demanding a trade.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. He’s been patient and this isn’t a primadonna move imo.

Gibson deserves the world. Performed out of his skin in a shocking side that never provided him cover. He’s arguably underrated by many due to bad numbers. Put him in a decent team and you will see how good he can be ok a regular basis. He deserves a chance at the trophy!
