S’il est en bonne santé, Vasilevskiy pourrait-il porter Tampa Bay vers une autre coupe?

Carey Price carried a pretty lacklustre Habs team to the ‘21 cup final, I can see Vasi being less than 85% and still the Bolts have a chance.

People act like they no longer have a good team for some reason.

I won’t declare the lightning dead until I see it happen, and this season is the perfect season for them to reassert themselves in the East

Not until the new bottom six kids have another year

Look what the two hacks from Florida and Vegas did this year? And I mean hack in a respectful way….sort of… So yes, Vasy could.

Tampa will always be in it. It’s up to him.

He was bad by his standards this spring. Decent Vasilevskiy gets them past Toronto then who knows.

A recharged Vasilevskiy and freshened up roster is still sharp and ready to contend. As long as Point, Kucherov, Hedman, Vasy, and Stamkos are around they have a chance.

Vasy doesn’t have to carry the Lightning, their core is still intact. Hedman, Point, Sergachev, Stamkos. They should be competitive still.

Only one goalie has ever won the Vezina the same year their team won the cup, and that was before the salary cap was implemented. Plenty of average goalies have won cups since then. If you think a goalie can carry a team to a cup win, then you don’t understand hockey.

« what happened to Tampa? »

    « Well, Vasilevsky only played to 83.8% ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ »

Not a cup but playoffs yes

If top goalie in the league plays well Tampa is Stanley Cup Contenders! Breaking hot take everyone

What a weird thing to say. They have their entire cup core locked up and still relatively young. Theyre one year removed from a cup final. Of course theyre still contenders. Theyre one of the favorites.

Just a random take below a picture. This is stupid.

  16. phudgeoff

Doesn’t work like that, otherwise FL would have won the cup.

  17. AcousticOcean26

They lost some pieces this off season. He’d have to have the best year of his career imo to give them a shot.

  18. toxicvegeta08

No. The defensive effort from his players is horrible.

  19. Gruz420

Yup. Vasi could lead the Sens to a cup. Fuck, my worst nightmare.

Question: how do play at « 85% » of your potential?

  21. frankrocksjesus

Short answer yes. That guy is just unbelievable

  22. goatlover1966

I think they could. I hope they don’t though.

  23. toxicvegeta08

    No.

Their defense is too weak as a team for him to carry them. They’re not a top 10 defense. They also are very slow and can’t cope when most playoff teams in the east aside from like the bruins, are faster than them.

  24. Night_Sky02

I think it’s over. The Tampa Bay Lightning are going the same road as the Pittsburg Penguin. You can only win the cup so many times before a decline process begins in the hockey world of today.
