Avec le décès de Rick Jeanneret hier soir, j’ai décidé de publier son appel du vainqueur de la Coupe Stanley 1999 de Brett Hull en 3OT.

Ill say it. RIP. But yikes that was such a boring call for a 3OT cup win…

24 years later, it’s still not a goal. It was one of the worst calls in NHL history.

Yes, the crease rule was garbage. It was still the rule.

Well thats just digging that dagger a little deeper with this post

Pens fan here, but I would always listen to the Buffalo feed when they played each other just to hear Mr. Jeanneret call the game.

    RIP sir.

I was glued to my 26 inch crt tv from circuit city for that shit goal. Not even close to the greatest call by RJ, but damn, RIP.

I’m glad he retired in time to get his due honor while he was alive. RIP

Where the fuck is May Day??? I’m not even a sabres fan and I know RJ is looking down on you with disappointment for this. He had a billion better calls.

Lol the mix of horror and professionalism, love it

PS fuck these Sabres teams, they score 2 on you it was basically GG peak unwatchable hockey

I still don’t get how this is even debated. His foot was in the crease when he got possession. It was still in the crease when he shot. It was still in the crease when the puck went in the net. We are 24 years on and the NHL still hasn’t resolved stuff like this, inconsistent calls.

way to kick fans while they’re down.
