  1. The text that Marty read was great, but in the end it still makes this hurt that much more. The greatest voice of my lifetime, and one of the best people in the history of the sport is no longer with us.

  2. RJ was family. His knowledge and love for the game was shared with fans, players and community. His voice was heard around the world. RIP

  3. This hurt my heart last night, I loved RJ, I used to emulate him playing my NHL video games on my PlayStation, I wrote all of his best calls, on little pieces of yellow paper in blue pen and taped them to my high school agenda, little things like that, because the man made such a lasting impression on me as a hockey fan, he will be deeply and sorely missed…hopefully the team store will put out a new DVD or a book chronicling his life & career next season! 💙🎙️💛

  4. I remember the time Lorentz poked fun at him during Easter telecast (Jeanneret was wearing bunny ears) and Jim goes ‘Boys and Girls…the Easter bunny does not look like this!’
    💙🐰💛

  5. I’ve said this for years, but I honestly believe that we had the two best sports announcers—Rick Jeanneret & Van Miller 🥇🎙️

  6. RJ was an announcer who got excited – and his voice would inflect – when the Sabres would cross the opposing blue line and up up up his energy would go.
So many great calls and catch phrases, yet humble as could be.
Just wish all of us lifelong Sabres fans could have heard RJ said those sacred words: “The Buffalo Sabres have won the Stanley Cup!!”
Not sure how he would have phrased but it would have been magical!
Peace to you RJ. Your spirit will ALWAYS be with the Sabres.
When the Sabres do win the CUP, RJ needs to be inscribed on that sacred trophy along with the team!
