I'm so relieved that Babcock is gone. It was a horrible decision to hire him.
Even if Babcock made it more of a volunteer type of thing, he’d certainly “remember” the players who refused to participate. That’s where the power manipulation came in. Those players, at the very least, would have lost face but possibly even ice time for not being “team players“ in the mind of Babcock. What’s on your phone is a private matter. If it was any other job, and the manager asked you to volunteer to share stuff from your phone, employees would be rightly outraged and have grounds to sue the company. Even teachers in schools usually aren’t allowed to look at students’ phones. Guy’s learned nothing. Bu-bye! 😂

Imagine how much better off the Blue Jackets would be if they had fired Jarmo and kept Torts.
I'm not a psychologist but Babcock seems like a narcissist and people like that will never admit wrong doing or apologize. It does seem like if he was really trying to change, and it was all a misunderstanding, he could apologize to the players and work through it. The fact he walked away shows that he wasn't committed to change. Hopefully the drama is in the past now and everyone can move forward.

We saw Last year, teams with new coach and good one, they performed. Dallas, Vegas, Florida, Winnipeg, Boston.
CBJ could really benefit from a new management situation.
Really agree with your pov here..Babcock interviews were a reveal early on..he seemed socially inept. He spent some time as an adjunct coach at my alma mater..University of Vermont..that seemed odd. Why would a coach with an elite coaching resume end up in small town Burlington Vermont for a coaching time.
20:28 Vincent was an Associate Coach, so not technically an assistant; Boll and McCarthy were the offensive and defensive coaches, with Boll taking over as Skills Coach when Kenny McCudden left. So there is an opening for Skills Coach, but I think they should be covered for Assistant Coaches with Boll and McCarthy
Jarmo should be In question of his position for hiring a child molester like Mike Babcock in the first place.
As a Leaf supporter, I can tell you the Bluejackets have dodged a huge bullet. Shocked that Babcock was hired in the first place. Pascal Vincent has an excellent track record and will guide a young CBJ team in a modern and appropriate way. Coaches like Babcock, Darryl Sutter and John Tortorella should never coach players of any age. They belong to an old school type of coach that is out of touch with modern coaching.
How long until the GM gets the axe for hiring this walking red flag?

I am very glad that they sorted all of this out before training camp started for the senior players. This situation was absolutely chaotic and now the Blue Jackets can dial in with no distractions!
