I think if Babcock had stayed on he would have found out or he already knows who complained and might have retaliated. I think being a tough coach is okay some players like that but Babcock is known for mind games and intimidation which is different. I'm glad he's out and hopefully they can move forward and put the drama behind them.

Isn't social media a wonderful thing. I find it interesting and sad in how the players are running the league. I see it as a bunch of spoiled rich kids who spend too much time on there phones
maybe coaches doing too much? let players do as much as can in regular season, prepare team for playoffs?

Invasion of privacy, while he was on probation. There was no need for what he did, while minor he was on probation, the right move was made.
At this point it sounds like he got cancelled. I wonder if it were any other coach if this would even be an issue.

No it was a bad hire, players didn't like Babcock before regardless how different the younger players are now. The old school guys didn't like him. Imo a younger player maybe didn't wanna share anything and things escalated.

TBH, Babcok resigning is probably the classiest thing he ever did. Thinking back to what Johnny Gudreau said in defense of him on 32 Thoughts last week…yeah, awkward. Look, Columbus knew that Babcock came with miles of baggage and was justifiably run out of the league not because his communication style is awkward, but because he was an abusive prick and played mindgames with his players. Columbus knew this about him and went with him anyway. They brought this on themselves and their team.

Well, this is the best resolution to the investigation of Coach Babcock-
saving some face and giving the CBJ organization to chance to move foward-of course, the real question is why they hired him in the first place with all the baggage he came with. I have to wholeheartedly agree with your previous statement from the other day about the NHL recycling the same group of Coaches–not that these guys don't deserve to work, but, IMHO, the League would be better served with some new coaching blood in the mix, Seriously, how many of these Coaches have headed multiple NHL teams? Whatever the future holds for Coach Babcock, I hope it goes well for him, but, I don't see him ever coaching in the NHL again as a Head Coach.I think a lot of credit can go to Marty Walsh from the players union. I like how he said no we’re not gonna take., “Oh, it’s no big deal, nothing to see here” at face value and actually did an investigation. Now the players may actually feel like they could trust the players union in these kind of situations.
mike babcock is past his prime. HE was out of the keenan and sutter mould. These are all guys who have no place in coaching and need to go away for good.

Simple and spot on. These GMs can't be afraid to be the innovators. Sure, there is risk involved in bringing in an inexperienced coach.. but sometimes you gotta risk it to get the biscuit.

Every time the Hawks were looking for a coach after Quennville left (Richardson #3) I was terrified knowing that Babcock was out there waiting by his telephone. CBJ dodged a bullet.
Babcock is a good coach…… but he should have known better?? Young people's phones are almost an extension of themselves & they are very attached to their phones & they have all their VERY private stuff on the phone . This guy has daughters & he should have asked his kids how they see their phones. Almost All young people are this way…..

Vancouver is unable to afford Petterson's demand of a cup, but habs can make them a contender in a trade! For example we have , M & M Matheson and Mailloux. Reinbacher, Barron, Engsfrom, Guhle, Harris, Arbor, Kovacevic, Hudson, Lidstrom, Savard, etc so we can afford to trade off at least 2 D and Anderson, and a pick and Peterson will have a contender and make Habs a contender as well with his talent Lets say Barron and Harris and Anderson! and a pick or a prospect. Let me dream! finally, that STAR PLAYER WE ALWAYS NEEDED and we put Vancouver in contention as well
