  1. Team as awhole is not enjoying Jays system changes and you can tell. He might of gotten himself fired. When McDavid looks awful to start the season there's a huge problem somewhere.

  2. That’s alarming about McDavid. He can’t do it all. Hopefully he can recover if it’s muscular. He hasn’t been himself since the beginning of this season. If he is seriously injured/hurt – not good news. Does Jay know what he’s doing this season- the answer is no.

  3. "It's just 1 game, it's just 2 games, it's just 4 games, it's just 5 games, it's just a lost season"

  4. its the penalty box that swung momentum not the break aways… skinner didn't do the boys any favors on the 2nd jets goal ither…

  5. Captain skates. Lol. Five decades die hard Oiler fan. I feel sorry for 97. 4th from bottom of the league. 29th place team. Let’s that soak in boys. While Vegas is 9 points ahead and 6-0. I don’t think we ain’t making the playoffs

  6. How fast did it go from Cup or Bust to Just Squeaking Into The Playoffs or Bust. Yikes! Somebody please help! SOS (Sinking Oiler Season).

  7. Tonight was a disaster. Another loss to a team we should have beat and McDavid possibly injured. Oh boy.. just keep repeating "its still early… its stiĺl early.. its just 5 games"

  8. I'm a big Jumping Jack Flash fan, but I thought Skinner had a great game. Played really well. Just one play where the risky bet never panned out. Other than that, Skinner was solid tonight.

  9. McDavid if he is out janmark or Ryan will be promoted to the top line lol
but Holloway and the speed will stay down with no minutes it's so weird how he is this year

  10. These loses havent been on woodcroft. The players arent ready to play, if you are a grown ass man that is getting paid millions of dollars to play hockey and you cant find the motivation to show up for an nhl game, we got bigger problems than I thought.

  11. I don’t think Connor is injured it looked like he pulled a muscle or something and didn’t want to risk it so early in the season so he sat it out. Probably the smart move. Now onto the teams play I actually thought they played a full 60 tonight Skinner was good Nurse actually looked good tonight the PK was good other then taking to many penalties but I thought the refs were a little soft on some of their calls. The oiler deserved to win tonight just getting some bad luck here but if they continue to ply a full 60 that bad luck will turn around. I thought moving Kane down to the third line helped a lot with chemistry.

  12. I Blame Elliot Friedman. Last time pundits were picking Oilers to win the cup we didn't even make the playoffs.

    It's a curse!

  13. Is it too early to be in~~~~ 5 alarm CRISIS MODE? 11/7 style hockey is generally adopted for an injury accommodation for a short term strategy….in the Oilers case the injury is to hide a weak roster for an entire season~ a 4th line that is so bad it has to be diluted with upgrades. It's alarming the Oilers went from 1 series away to a cup final to all out panic in a 3 month offseason. Nice to see Bouchard and Nurse with rifle shot goals… need to see more of that creativity.

  14. The Oiler D are not getting to the puck quickly enough. The other teams are beating them to it, and controlling the play. Skate them until they puke….that might help get rid of their "Phaneuf-itis".

  15. Unless Connor Brown, Janmark, McLeod, Holloway and Foegele all have a few tricks up their sleeve in the coming games, Holland's decision to acquire, resign, and keep all those guys is not looking too good right now for Holland. The team has no identity. They don't know who they are. Holland let the Giraffe, the Bull and the Road Runner go in the off the season. All guys that had passion and character. McLeod couldn't control a hard pass and find the back of the net if his stick had a built in GPS, was a giant magnet and his tape was made of Velcro. We kept him because of speed? Really? Last time I checked speed is the bottom minimum requirement to play in the NHL. Holland may have picked the wrong animals to survive in the wild. The team's lack of identity and character is on Holland. The team's lack of organization and urgency is on Woodcroft. The team's lack of discipline, defending and execution is on the players. Hey, whatdya know, it's everyone's fault! Plenty of blame to go around.

  16. The Woodcroft system seems to be struggling this year. It’s puzzling why Holloway isn’t given more ice time, given his speed and skills. Additionally, there’s a concern that players like Kostin and Byugstad were underutilized during last year’s playoffs, with a preference for Yamamoto.
It might have been wiser to retain Kostin or Byugstad and let go of players like Ryan and Janmark, whom some consider less effective. There’s also a plea to announce Campbell as the primary goalie to boost his confidence, with the argument that his losses have been more a result of poor team performance. In contrast, Skinner’s losses are seen as more related to his own performance. Woodcroft better figure this out soon cuz Draisaitl and McDavid might run out of patience soon!
