  1. One word in how they look and play…….OLD. This team’s complete tear down is sooner than you think. That includes Sid and Geno.. Yeah I said it. Too much money for limited results.

  2. When Dan Bylsma was fired and ended up in Buffalo, I remember rumbles out of Buffalo that Bylsma's system was too rigid. Players (allegedly) spent more energy thinking about where they were supposed to be, and what they were supposed to do, instead of "just being allowed to play." That resulted in a lifeless, paint-by-the-numbers game by the Sabres. Could a similar problem be reaching its zenith with Sullivan in Pittsburgh?

Acciari was averaging over 3 hits a game last season. This season (so far) he's below 2. What happened? Did he convert to Janism over the summer? Or is it possible he's just not able to get into position to hit anyone because Sullivan has him playing IRL slot hockey?

  3. We don't help our goaltender much. Binnington got his stops but his guys made SO many blocks in front of him.

  4. They look embarrassing. They look aged. They have little to zero chemistry. The blues could swing a fastbreak with rhythm and poise. It didn't yield anything but it built rhythm and increased the probability of a high quality shot chance. Its sad that Karlsson looks like an aggressor while nobody else does. Its as if theirs a bunch of players fearful of ruining the legacy. Don't even get me started in the forecheck its like we're checking a box that Sullivan requested. BTW Carter is still inadequate lets not forget that

  5. It's not an overreaction when you just missed the playoffs by 1 point. Does ludvig help the net front? Shea already rotated in on the third pair. Why have these guys up if you're not going to use them when guys are out there under performing.

  6. I have a Question DK…….Having many new faces this year, upgrades supposedly and the top defenseman/forward in the league lol, do you think it's Sully and his style of play he promotes. Does it need revamped? He seems to be talking to the wall a whole lot. I really like Sully. Just wondering or am I missing something?

  7. I know you hate talking about this but here is my take on Carter, I can't tell if Accari and Nieto are playing this badly, or if Carter is dragging them down so much. You can not tell me that Nylander, Puustinen, and Collin White are WORSE than Carter. Just make him a healthy scratch and play one of them. If you can fit it under the cap that is…

  8. Old teams don’t win cups .
Sully probably still a good coach, he served his purpose but he’s gotta gooooooooo

  9. The team needs a new coach sully is to weak dk his system is accient history. We are to old dk. Jarry is horriable and the 4th line is disgusting. And 3rd pairing is horriable.

  10. Only 5 games? Lol Sure thing. People say that every season and for the past 5 seasons the end results have progressively gotten worse. Guess what? It’s only been 5 games for the 2022-23 record setting Bruins so far this season too, and yet they are 5-0. There’s no “It’s still early” excuse for them. How’s that? Krejci and Bergeron retired and people had them pegged to flounder in the middle of the pack, or possibly even miss the playoffs, but instead they seemed to have picked up right where they left off from the last regular season. Seems like they still have something to prove. Whereas the Penguins who were determined to get rid of all the dead wood from the Hextall era and did about as much of a reconstruct as even hopefully possible, even adding world class talent on top of it, but yet its the same old uninspired, apathetically compassionless, and ‘going through the motions’ level of play that also has them picking right up where they left off last season as well. Seems like all they are intent on proving is what’s old is new again.

How’s that? Same reason as the Bruins really: Culture and coaching. Except for the Bruins those things are still a positive. Pretty sure you could change out 50% of the Bruins roster and they’d still be a professionally competent and supremely capable team, whereas the Penguins pretty much did just that and aside from the jersey numbers changing, there’s no measurable difference in the play or the results. My only issue with Dubas is that he probably knew this would happen, knew what the deeper issue with the team was, and didn’t demand a coaching change before taking the job to at least spark the needed shift in the malaise culture and attitude. As it stands the problem wasn’t really the players, at least not to the degree that even doing a huge roster overhaul would make any marked difference.

  11. I remember people saying at lease no matter what else, at least this season would be exciting. Anyone excited yet?

  12. I've said it in previous comments and I'll say it again: one player can tank a line and make the other two players seem ineffective. That was demonstrated with the second line against the blues.
Call me crazy, but I think swapping out Jeff Carter with Sam Poulin would do wonders for that fourth line.
Also, they need a third pair defenseman to step up and make a difference.

  13. It's early in the season so things can start to turn, but every game I have watched has been almost like watching the Steelers offense play. It's been very frustrating. The team has all of the talent, but nothing seems to be clicking. Rarely are all lines playing at a high level, it seems like one game Sid is going off, but then some other lines are slacking, and then the next it's Geno. Is this something to do with complacency with the system among the team? Could this be Sullivan not changing his system to match the talent? With Dubas pretty much revamping everything, could Sullivan be close to being on the hot seat? He is a great coach and has done great things, but the shelf life of an NHL coach is really short and in the past that kind of shakeup has worked with this talent.

  14. I’ve been saying this for a long time not to toot my own horn: there’s no set up passes that are good, no good net presence, not crashing the net, not organized on the offensive side

  15. Jarry is not the guy. He does not know how to use his glove arm. Literally every goal scored on him is glove-side. He stinks…a 5 year extension is absolutely ludicrous.
But all this talent has to amount to something eventually, right?
