Consistency is missing, offense and defense, and especially on the power play. Must start winning or they will be buried early.
Why would anyone want to get rid of Sullivan? He's never had a losing regular season and he once upon a time won a championship. Isn't that the keep/fire barometer for coaches in the burgh, or does that only apply to the football team? Let's see here…Bylsma fired. Yup, only the football team and it's substandard standard.
If one player can contribute to a line looking so bad, as Harkins did, and carters linemates are just as invisible as anyone he played with last year, is now finally the time to scratch him?

As far as players coming to this team and not playing up to their established and expected profile and capabilities, we can also add to that the players that didn't play up to their expectations with the Penguins and then went elsewhere and did. We can go all the way back to Naslund with that one. Recently players like Sprong who came in with nice AHL offensive numbers showing his potential but then was marginalized to the point of invisibility and healthy scratches before being traded to the Ducks, where he put up a pretty decent 14 goals in 47 games after arriving. With the Kraken last season he had 21 goals, 46 points and was a plus 13 in 66 games, and now looks to be picking right up at that pace with Detroit. But alas, he didn't fit "the Sullivan system". He did obviously fit the Kraken's system though, and they did much better than the Penguins last season, didn't they? Better System or better players? They did get Pettersson for Sprong in the trade, but the point is: why couldn't they tap into Sprong's potential while he was a Penguin, instead of banishing him almost from the start to the 4th line where his skills fit about as well as shoes on a cat?
we need guys (more than one or two) who revel in the dirty work. effort is contagious in both directions.
