Prime Carey Price statistically was the best goalie to ever play during that stretch leading up to, and after the Olympics.
He carried a bottom 5 NHL team to the ECF.

Carey Price was so scary players during the bubble hated the idea of 1 game deciders, cause he alone could win you a game, even best of 3 was scary. It’s why the qualifying round was best of 5. Still didn’t help Pittsburgh that year.
I love King Henrik too. Guy was consistently around the top of the league for goalies in terms of play. He was an absolute monster. I am really glad he played out East. Lol.
Didn’t the penguins refuse to play a best of 3 first round against the Habs because of price and instead the nhl opted for a 5 game first round….might have been play in round during the first year of Covid
Hank. Price missed so much time. Like Price, Hank also dragged teams into the playoffs that had no business being there.
Tough to say but Price probably had a better peak. It was just so short.
Edit: Hank also won an Olympic gold. People love to hate on him for no cup, but I think gold is a harder achievement

Carey Price. He controlled games the way few goalies could.
As a lifelong Bruins fan, prime Carey. That man stole so many games that they had no right to be in in the first place. If Montreal had ever built a decent team around him he’d have several cups.
Price took a Marc Bergevin built team with Jeff Petry as the second leading scorer to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Don’t think much else needs to be said. Price is easily the best of his generation.

Price at his peak was probably the best of the three (he did win a Hart), but I still like Hank because of his consistency. Price mixed in the occasional off-year, and did lose his job temporarily to Halak. Hank took the net over as a rookie, and even with guys like Talbot & Raanta behind him he didn’t lose the starting job until the end of his career
Price easily. He played in front of absolutely horrendous Montreal teams and dragged them kicking and screaming to relevancy.
He was the most feared of the generation and is the perfect mechanical example to teach young goalies.

Carey Price prevented himself from having a good team in front of him by being so damn good his whole career. We always ended up having mid picks when we should’ve been dead last a couple of times. That alone makes him the best.

I saw an interview with Crosby, Stamkos and Karlsson from 2016 and they asked them who they thought was the best goalie and they all said Price
Depends how you like things. Consistent performance (Hank) or high variance performance (Price)
It breaks my heart when amazing goalies get put behind mediocre talent. That’s all I’m going to say.

Henrik Lundqvist. All those years he was winning 30 plus games every season, insane save percentages every year, probably should of won the Veznia more than once, Olympic gold, all star games, carried the Rangers many times and was just clutch. The saves he would make…. wasn’t even human like. Besides all of that he conducted himself with such class and dignity. Rask and Price were elite goalies too but not on Henrik’s level. The only think Hank lacks is the cup. Other than that, can’t really say too many negative things about him.
How can i choose between two of my favorite goaltenders and price?!
Lundqvist considering his best defense men where Girardi and Marc Staal with one eye. Also Lundqvist is probably the best game 7 goalie to ever play in the NHL.
