Great story, Sámi is an important part of Scandinavian culture and it is not suprising that Salming wanted to cherish his Sámi heritage. Technically though, the Sámi people are indigenous only to the northern regions of Sweden/Scandinavia, as settlements in the southern parts predate the earliest Sámi settlements.
