Kind of hilarious that on February 25th when the Wings play the Hawks (in Chicago), the Blackhawks will be retiring Chris Chelios’ number, and then shortly after, Kane and DeBrincat will step out on the ice in Wings jerseys on Chicago ice. Three star Blackhawk players who went on to be Red Wings; all 3 of them shoved in their face that night. I know the rivalry is dead, but that just feels like salt in the wound… and I love it. Even if the Wings lose that game – they won the minute DeBrincat and Kane step on the ice.

Backstrom played 47 games since getting hip resurfacing. That’s the most of anyone who had the same procedure. And he looks to be done. Kane will be lucky if he finishes the year.
