Makes sense. Many people said they saw him out getting hammered before games for years.

  2. Toiletboy4

Heard he pulled a ric flair and was pulling his cock out all over the place, WOOOOOOO

  3. SmidgeMoose

W apology. Hope he gets the help he needs.

  4. redditorus99

So, it really sounds like he just got drunk and did something stupid.

If that’s all he did, wow this circus and pony show the Chicago Blackhawks put him through is disgusting. They made it seem like the guy killed someone or something. Now it’s looking like he got drunk in front of a few corporate sponsors before a game.

Typical Chicago organization, cut the alcoholic, shame him in the media, and let rumors spread like wildfire.

Probably the end of his hockey career, but Perry has millions in the bank and can get help…. Hope he does. Everybody’s been there, most of us just aren’t rich and having to do this out in the public eye.

  5. Traditional_Bee_6637

If it’s just this, then the whole clown show that Chicago put on to make it seem like this super secret bad issue is kinda wild imo.

  6. HairlessDaddy

    “I’m sorry.”

    “Sorry for what?”

“I can’t say. Please forgive me.”

Good for him for acknowledging he has some sort of drug/alcohol problem, and indicating he intends to get help. But without being transparent about his actions is he really taking responsibility for them?

Same goes for the Shane Pinto situation.

  7. red_langford

Alcoholism is a disease and not enough to cancel his contract. He did more than just get loaded.

  8. ytrehtthgie

I never thought alcoholism was that bad until I had to with someone who suffered with it. Refusing to get help, being violent and erratic. Some people just aren’t meant to drink..

  9. avdangles

Perry got drunk at a team function and grabbed the butt of a female employee. The incident was reported by a third party.

He’ll be back on a team but in light of the Blackhawks recent history, it’s no surprise that they’re dropping him.

  10. Sila371

Perry’s a hound dog! Go get ‘em buddy.

  11. mtech101

He Sounds like a rowdy drunk….

    Fun drunk = good times

    Rowdy drunk = you’re canceled.

  12. buddyboykoda

I can’t stand Corey Perry as a player but this statement had one thing most statements from professional athletes don’t. That’s admission of guilt, he acknowledged it was his actions. There was no blaming on substance abuse he simply said he had started working with professionals on his issues. there was no beating around the bush. As far as statements go this is the best I’ve seen in awhile, I don’t like Corey Perry but I have some respect for him after this statement.

  13. MayoMania

They cut off the most important part.

« PS – Connor, tell your mother I’ll pick her up by 8…don’t wait up 🙂 »

  14. BusinessWarthog6

I’m thinking this could be like a German situation where he got drunk at a team event or in the locker room

  15. TsarOfSaturn

So he probably got black out wasted, and did something ridiculous. Wonder what that was, no telling though. Could have been belligerent and tried to walk around picking fights with corporate sponsor reps (lol), got naked and ran around the room, who knows. If he wasn’t such a chud on the ice I might have sympathy 🤷‍♂️

  16. Isernogwattesnacken

« Hey ChatGPT, write an apology as an alcoholic without being specific ».

  17. josegofaster

It’s always the sauce. God speed

  18. Apprehensive_Proof19

Admittedly this is a lot more sad than the rumors that were floating around. Hope that employee is safe and I hope that Perry gets the help he needs, addiction sucks

  19. Unabatedtuna

« I did not have sexual relations with that woman »

Jokes aside, I hope he can get the help he needs. Addiction sucks

  20. BC_guy_

So you’re telling me he was drunk when he banged Bedard’s mom.…

  21. Fearless_External932

An 18 y.o. boy and his family received a huge stream of derogatory jokes only because the Chicago Blackhawks organization did not immediately say the reason for Corrie Perry’s suspension.

  22. Sandshrew922

Somebody has to tell us what he did though

  23. HabitantDLT

What about the ostrich, how’s it holding up?

  24. sidiculouz

His career may be over but regardless I hope he gets help for this disease

  25. Double_Reward230

Well I hope he gets the help he needs! It’s not an easy battle but he can do it!

  26. Agreeable_Fix9896

In other words I did fuck his mother but she agreed

  27. d3lltr0n

Damn I never been drunk enough to fuck a ostrich

  28. natedogjulian

It’s an accepted way to say you got too shit faced on free booze

  29. dickiefrisbee

Meanwhile there’s a tiktok with a million likes on it claiming he boned Bedard’s mom.

  30. Fucking copout. Tired of these athletes using alcohol as an excuse for their bullshit behavior. Have you noticed lately every single athlete who’s had problems has blamed alcohol or mental health as the reasoning, instead of owning up and apologizing? There’s no accountability anymore for these guys, they just look for the easy way out.

  31. Euphoric-Dig-2045

If it is truly alcoholism, then I can relate. I denied I was an alcoholic for years, until I realized I spent $400 to $500 a month on alcohol.

I could t do any activity unless I was drinking. It’s worse than smoking. I hope to one day overcome my issue.

EDIT: while typing this I realized I had three beers left and mentAlly thought about going and getting another 12 pack for $16. Just so I could have fun. It’s a disease.

  32. v13ragnarok7

Whatever he did was probably common practice when he first came into the league. Different times now

  33. herraJohansson

So… There was no fucking involved at all?

  34. dedXflou

Youtubers should learn from Perry how to make an apology.

  35. Consistent_Bet811

Ok….. so what did he do though? lol told someone to fuck off while drunk? Hit on a big wigs wife? Pulled his dick out? What happened

  36. Bobo_Baggins03x

Why can’t the blackhawks be forthcoming with literally anything?

  37. malcontented

Guessing taking a dump in a semi public setting is somehow involved here 🍹🍺🍻 🤢🤮💩

  38. gilbertusalbaans

The more they bring up “teammates and/or their families,” the less I believe them.

  39. correct_eye_is

I hope he can overcome this instance and be a leader in the cause to help others struggling with similar issues regardless of wealth or fame.

I really hope the league supports yet another player struggling and sees that everyone is a person first and foremost.

This is a perfect opportunity for the NHL to get on board with organizations geared to help people struggling with addictions, substance abuse and mental health issues.

I’d like to see more help avenues over gambling avenues, which is an addiction in itself. Everyone can struggle with addiction or otherwise and as we see more and more hard times we need more compassion and more people speaking out to raise awareness of these issues.

The Chicago Blackhawks and Mr. Perry should be bringing this into the light in a way that provides help for people whom might need help. Allowing all to know that help is attainable. And beyond, every sport and every celebrity should strive to ensure their fans know there is help when needed.

  40. marklillyr

He did well . Leave him alone . Well said

  41. Wellfudgeit

Alright, so one of two things likely happened, by the sounds of it.

    1. He got drunk and sexually harassed an employee.

    2. He got drunk and attacked an employee.

It’s already been confirmed that it had to with a staff member.
