  1. Good game against Boston. If the Leafs can find a way to have all lines firing, they can beat anyone. I'd like to see a punishing D man be added soon.

  2. Mike stop being so condescending to David. I guess if you can't be humble toward an NFL player, you must feel superior to your cohost.

  3. I hope Treliving will keep Martin Jones up with the Leafs even if only to give the vet goalie some reps. Samsonov, before his illness, had been rather inconsistent, having lost his last start to the Blackhawks after having given up multiple ugly goals. Yes last week against the Oilers Connor Hellebuyck gave up 2 ugly goals in a 3-1 loss by his team although relying mainly on Hellebuyck hasn't helped the Jets have much playoff success following their 2018 trip to a conference final.

2 weekends ago over at Bridgestone Arena Jets' backup goalie Laurent Brossoit, months removed from a Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights' team that'd beaten, in an April playoff series, his then-next team, allowed 2 ugly goals en route to a 3-2 regulation loss by his team to the Preds. Monday Eastern Time will feature the Jets host the Canes. Will Helle or Brossoit get the start? That'll be up to Rick Bowness (the team's head coach) or, barring that, most likely Scott Arniel, an assistant coach who'd subbed as HC during Bowness's absence for family reasons.

  4. Lack of effort on defense is something Keefe has a long history of rewarding. Why would he tear into Nylander and Tavares for something he has shown himself to be OK with for years.

Robertson, injury prone, defensively irresponsible winger, that the Leafs have been showcasing for a trade every opportunity they can get. I'm not too concerned if he is moved. That said, if the could move Abruzzese that is fine too. Tanev… So injury prone.

  5. Willie 1.5m retained, Timmons, a 3rd, and two 5ths for Dobson, and Romanov from the Islanders.
That would solve the Leafs d situation by getting a top right shot d and a number 4 left shot d, and the Islanders would get a legit first line rw who can get 40 plus goals a year for 5.4m.
Or I'd do a one for one and retain 2.9 of Willie Styles salary for Dobson. The Islanders desperately need scoring and Willei would fix that problem for them, and Dobson would fix our top pairing right shot d situation, which we were after for years here in T.O.
If I were to trade with the Flames I would go after Rasmus Anderson, a number 3 d man with size, skill, and term on a good contract.
That would probably cost a 1st, Robertson and two 5ths.
Alex Steevs could then take Robertson's 3rd line spot, and is probably better fitted for that checking line role anyways, even tho I do like how Robertson's game is coming along.
That would be a couple of trades I'd like to see. Especially the first one with the Islanders if there was a chance Willie is going to walk for nothing. That cannot happen. GLG

  6. I'd be offering some all star offensive talent like Marner & or Nylander & or Tavares for an all star defenseman John Karlson, Adam Fox, Cale Makar type player… young and dangerous…. maybe a Roman Josi? Think Big….

  7. The issue is every GM in the NHL knows the Leafs need defencemen. As the season progresses and more potential injuries occur, the need will grow. As this is the last year for the Core Four, a massive overpay near the trade deadline for a decent defenceman is likely. Teams will wait until the Leafs are desperate.

  8. 6454 games? HAHA .. It would take 60-70 years to play that many games. Good job! .. it is more likely around 1454.

  9. Good Video Clicked Like . I dont see the Leafs getting Tanev but it would be nice . The core have choked the life out of this team with what they can and can not do to fill this roster .

  10. You are talking like the Flames are tearing down and having a fire sale. Flames are just two points from a playoff spot.
They now cleared cap space by getting rid of an overpaid third pair d-man. They might try to use this cap space.

  11. Seems like reality is beginning to sink in for Leaf fans. Before the season began, Toronto was perceived as the clear favorite to win the Atlantic. 22 games in and they're lucky to force overtime against the obviously fading Bruins…who they've lost to 2 of 2 times now. Toronto is now giving up more goals than they're scoring. They're 4th in the Atlantic and are lucky to be that high.

  12. I'd Be Happy If The Leafs Got Both Tanev And Lybushkin As Always Go Leafs Go From Way Up North Timmins Ontario Canada🙂🏒🥅🍁🇨🇦

  13. Mile david is right about what kypreos said.

There is bad blood between calgary ownership and trieliving. YES, i understand trieliving is dealing with a gm and not the owner, but this owner loves to micromanage.

Micromanage 1 : The owner blocks trieliving from offering a good salary to gaudreau because the owner felt he was only worth 5.5 or 6 million, which was too low, and gaudreau got offended and walked.

Micromanage 2: trieliving wanted to get rid of sutter, but the owner wanted him. Trieliving said if you sign sutter, i won't sign an extension, and that's what happened.

Micro manage 3 : instead of allowing trieliving to wrap things up and finish his contract he told him dont bother coming back, initially refused to allow other teams to inquire, and did not allow trieliving on the draft floor.

With all this evidence of the owner stepping in and doing things to hurt calgary, do you guys honestly believe calgary would trade a player at fair market value? There is also the logic that due to toronto needing a defenseman, they would be barganing from a place of weakness, which drives costs up too.

If toronto deals with calgary, they are going to get double taxed. The owner is butthurt tax, and you need this player now tax.

Here's an unpopular opinion, maybe its in the best interest of the leafs is to wait? Hear me out. Any team that toronto deals with atm will overcharge on a defensman due to them needing. THIS is the exact reason teams carry depth players, so that if someone goes down they wont need to trade mid season and pay an arm and a leg.

Let these players play a bit. If toronto goes into a major slide and they lose like 4 in a row, maybe do something, but for now, let the injuries heal and find out more about klingberg. Ive honestly thought lagesson has been great, and i know ppl are ragging on timmins but every game timmins has been in the lineup the scores have been low so something right is happening. If the leafs get a bit healthier other teams lose their leverage.

The other reason to wait is to have the gaps widen between playoff vs non playoff teams. Right now calgary is also charging extra because they are the only team currently willing to trade. If arizona, or philly, or nashville fallnoff maybe they can snag someone from there.

  14. Did anyone notice the poor decision of their captain to watch the play go the other way in OT, before trying to get back? Over persuit of Reilly on the puck carrier……just curious
