The common thread for Sabres for years..they have had lots of quality players who end up going elsewhere..and win Cups!
…the coaching is consistently anemic.
…they hire nice thoughtful earnest coaches..But no wow factor.
…look around the league and in many instances you have teams who came out of the shadows with coaching upgrade.

Nothing. The Sabres are going to do nothing that will move the needle because Kevyn Adams doesn't do that. Is it that he is scared? Too in love with his own roster? Incompetent? There are arguments for many different reasons, but in the end it doesn't matter why. They simply won't make any major trades to improve the team mid-season. I wish I was wrong. Please, prove me wrong!

The Sabres need one or 2 more grit players, to go along with Clifton and Greenway. I was at the game in Carolina; and it was absolutely the worst effort I've seen in person. Not finishing their checks, inability to complete a 2 foot pass; working hard to get into the offensive zone – only to immediately give the puck away….
Buffalo Softies, should be the team name. Look at the freaking coach does that man emanate grit and toughness, or weak and soft?

Filling out the middle of the lineup with kids again and again doesn't help. Neither does having a coaching staff with a bunch of assistants no one is trying to poach. There is no commitment from most of the players to be on the right side of the puck like there is in say Boston. They just don't play a winning style and that is a combo of players and coaching.

They just need a better system and more aggressive players. Too many "team players" who wont take the puck and make aggressive moves to the net. They dissapear for 2 or 3 games and then show up for one. They need to find who seriously wants to score and getting more shots on goal.
Nobody wants to address the elephant in the room, the Sabres should relocate at this point.
A: Bring back Lindy Ruff
B: Fix their current centremen problem
they have lost three goals in three games to faceoff loses directly and have the worst record in the NHL. Even with injuries they need to be better at faceoff's and controlling the middle of the ice.
A centremen does so much on the ice and Buffalo's centers are not doing enough.
Sabres need Quinn and Tage back. To Snipers that play in the Top 6. But the sabres Lack Another Power Forward like a Tkachuk type and an actual Starting goaltender. The special teams have gone opposite this year. PK has been alot better but the Power play has sucked. They gotta find even and common ground for both.
