  1. He had a two way contract, and his job is to help them win. If being sent down was what the coaches thought would do that then yes. They did the right thing.

  2. ElectricalMarket2948

    – mid player with an attitude – dime a dozen/ at that point in his career he was noticebly ineffective

  3. Fastsmitty47

It’s a business. No business has their employees’ best interests in mind

  4. twistytwat

Should strip them of a first round pick

  5. Atomic_tortoise

Na guy cared more about the lifestyle than his career not wrong

  6. nedylan

Sounds like Blake Comeau with Dallas a couple years ago

  7. Vic_Hedges

Sometimes you say a thing like that just to be nice

  8. TheNationDan

Head coaches laugh at his demotion. Assistant coaches get tossed around like stick tape.

  9. Beautiful_Speech7689

Sounds oddly familiar, feel bad for anyone who’s been there. Hockey player or not.

  10. I’m sure Sen’s management saw the situation differently.

  11. CartelClarke

    Not at all.

While I believe the reason he got sent down, I don’t believe anyone would have told him that.

I’m not a personal friend of his, but I’ve met him on many occasions. This dude takes the “hockey player douchebag” stereotype to the next level. There’s nothing wrong with that, he had a great career.

He will be an extremely successful real estate agent.

  12. notPatrickClaybon

Nice can the Sabres do this? Cause they suck balls and it’s depressing me

  13. BellarmineFan

I don’t think this is a hockey thing.

Sounds like a Millennial whining that he’s special when his boss does not think so.

  14. Constant-Squirrel555

MDZ is shite and should never have been signed in the first place. Whether you’re looking for a high character vet or a guy good enough to insulate out young guys, he ain’t it.

But he was better than some of the plugs we iced that season.

Zaitsev played 62 games, Josh Brown played 46 games, and Victor Mete played 37 games. MDZ was better than each of those guys and scored more than each of them in 23 games. While he was a tire fire in our own zone, he was less of a tire fire than those other guys.

Then again at I’m comparing tire fires, they all sucked. Dorion is the idiot for signing him in the first place.

  15. Sad_Relation_1582

This was all the clown Pierre McGuires decision, no anyone outside of this organization would hire that hack

  16. Village-Temporary

Paid either millions or hundreds of thousands. Kinda treat them like ice sculptures, I DO NOT disagree

  17. fastal_12147

He was kinda garbage in Ottawa, no?

  18. Canadian_mk11

I still can’t believe Anaheim traded us Luke Schenn and a pick for that guy.

  19. AardArcanist

That’s one way to set the tone….a good tone? Whose to say. But damn

  20. Cultural-Loss-855

With that goatee I’m surprised he wasn’t in the ECHL

  21. weschester

Dude’s played for eight teams in his career and never sticks anywhere. Maybe at that point you should take a look in the mirror rather than just blaming everyone else.

  22. His whole interview had undertones of blaming other people other than himself for his mediocrity

  23. KolhiiHead69

This guy sucked and was a douchebag. I bet his teammates on Ottawa thought he was a greasy older dude.

  24. devildance3

They were wrong for tellling him

  25. Banffsucks

That’s funny cause no other team wanted him either

  26. SpacemanSpiff25

Like the Senators would tell him that. They don’t even tell other teams they’re trading with about important contract clauses the Senators negotiated.

  27. thisisATHENS

Of all things to talk shit about the guy, the Lisa Ann stuff seems the most normal. Why wouldn’t you ask her to set up dates instead of sleeping with her ran through tush lmao
