Ability is rewarded. Broberg hasn't shown BUT he was put on his OFF side, not the left side (because we have Nurse, Ekholm, and Kulak on the left side). I would almost have rather put Kulak as the 7th D and tried Broberg on the left side BUT if Ekholm was to be his tutor that isn't possible either unless you make Ekholm play his off side (not wise for a vet). If he's gone I wish him well (unless, of course, he's playing the Oilers then I hope he can't stop anything and gets slaughtered but, well, it's to be expected (lol)). Thanks for the news and update. Just read something on The Daily Hive speculating on a trade with Calgary. Markstrom to us of course. They get at least a first round pick and Broberg. Obviously, Campbell has to go. Similar cap hit to Markstrom. Maybe a bigger deal where we also get Chris Tanev. Interesting.

Go ahead and trade him. I was against it all along too but it's clear that whatever stardom the kid may one day achieve, he ain't gonna achieve it here so what's the point in him hanging around? Sometimes you've just got to admit your mistake, cut your losses and move on though I am chalking this up as yet another top prospect that the Oilers have wasted / mismanaged.
