Absolutely. Did not skate through the hit, did not leave his feet, no head contact (chest on shoulder). Fortunately the Leaf didn’t hit his head on the boards on the way down.

  2. Interesting-Race-919

Looks like the leaf player tried to stop and throw a reverse hit and got ran over

  3. Luke_Cold_Lyle

It looks rough from some angles, but McCabe is clearly the one who initiated contact. Tkachuk just happened to see it coming and is also a strong dude. Nothing wrong with the play.

  4. SigSauerPower320

Yup, the leaf player very clearly stops and initiates the contact. Anyone who says otherwise is focusing on the fact that he got rag dolled

  5. 3rr0r369

I think it would be interesting to see the reactions if it was matthews in the receiving end of it tho.

  6. poodog13

Initially thought it could be interference but on the second view the Leafs player clearly went to initiate a reverse hit (which should also be interference IMO). Clean hit.

  7. mingomcgoo

Yes , yes it is , the old leafer tried the reverse hit , chucky dumped him like a little bisnitch

  8. in-dog_we_trust

Clean hit. Maybe a bit of a high stick but I have no issues with it not being called such

  9. Schwinston123456

    Great hit, actually. Definitely clean.

  10. Old_Willow4766

I would say yes. Two players battling for a loose puck. Looks like Tkachuk’s contact is shoulder/chest and not the numbers.

  11. Antique-Industry8959

Leafs Fan – To me this is clean.

  12. 7x57mmR

he got up fast and acted like if didn’t happen so yeah

  13. airbag23

Stop trying to turn hockey into soccer, not every hit is dirty jfc

  14. MixOfApacheAndADuck

    It’s the same douchebag again

  15. Total_Valuable_2113

    Crying in Habs 😞😞

  16. kermittunesguits

    Not even a question, it’s just a hit…

  17. Elvis_livez

This is a dumb post. Absolutely nothing wrong with that hit.

  18. Yes. Shouldn’t even be a question.

  19. JiffTheJester

Yup, don’t get soft at the end

  20. VonD0OM

The only reason it looks wrong to me is that neither of them touched the puck.

Can anyone remind me the specifics on that rule, do you have to have touched the puck or can you hit someone whose jockeying for position like that?

If it’s legal to hit someone in this circumstance then it’s a clean hit.

  21. Yet-Another_Burner

Don’t make me say something nice about a Tkachuk.

  22. boipinoi604

Clean he pushed his shoulder parallel to the boards instead of pushing his numbers into the boards.

  23. Dustymanitoban

Ya, especially considering the leaf player initiated contact, same as the Marchand play

  24. laxhead24

McCabe tried to stop short and reverse hit Tkachuk, who got the better of him on the play. This happens all the time and is perfectly legal.

  25. PeterPuck99

A quick Chat GPT prompt will show that Tkachuk and cunt are used in the same sentence 100x more than Tkachuk and clean hit.

  26. Technically reverse hits are interference so McCabe’s hit would not be clean.

  27. bvanbove

It’s so clean I don’t even see the question

  28. BigGovDickSlurper

The dude that got rocked initiated contact so yea
