Cool. Probably a little more money than he’d get else where but it’s fine. Got the cap space and he’s basically acts like a captain

He’s demonstrated much more value to the organization and team than I anticipated… but this is still a pretty massive overpay. Guess it doesn’t really matter when you have so few veterans on the team making real money.

I actually find this pretty insightful about the Hawks plans.
This contract, Connor Murphy and the last dead cap money from McCabe (retained) and Connolly will be off the books in 2026 – right when Bedard and some of the other kids will negotiate their second contracts. That looks like the point in which the Hawks should be truly competing and spending to the cap ceiling.
Give me 4.5 million. I will guard bedard! Please Kyle.
Hell yeah!! He really seems to encompass being a leader, glad to have him to guide the young guys. Seems to be a man of strong character, good morals, and can still play pretty damn well too.

Love it. He’s honestly the perfect veteran player to mentor these young guys
He’s worth it and honestly has earned it at this point. The way he accepted his role coming into this team displayed that he not only understood the expectations for him but he ran with it.
100% he deserves to be our captain for the duration of his contract/time here. At his age he is still an effective player on the ice as well despite having an off night here or there. Factor in the leadership/toughness qualities and the way he sticks up for the young guys he’s absolutely worth 4.5M.
