Cernak has been hit in the head a lot, man. A lot more than anybody else on this team in the time he’s been here. It’s not just this hit, it’s every hit he’s taken. Each hit he takes is an irreversible tax on his brain and eventually there’s just nothing left.

Almost a month ago Sergachev was day to day too. Their injury updates aren’t really worth much. Looked like another concussion

Cernak is day to day almost every week at this point.
He’s almost too tough for his own good. At a certain point, he and the organization need to make a decision that it might be a good idea to shut him down for some time to allow him to recover fully.
If it is another concussion, you have to think big picture as this could have long term implications on his overall health and longevity

Ya its getting closer and closer for him to look at his own health for long term purposes and maybe make a decision.

It might not be concussion like that Anderson hit that put him out before this didn’t seem to be a headshot I don’t think anyways. Could just have hurt something again that was sore as fuck already

I get that he took another hit to the head again last night but to say that we need to deal him ASAP to get out of his contract is a little premature. It was only 10+ years ago now that everyone in the hockey world was unsure Sidney Crosby would ever play hockey again when he was battling his head injuries now look at him. You could also use Brandon Carlo & Josh Manson as a more recent example of comparable players who’ve missed plenty games in the past and appear to have turned the corner on their injury issues.
With that being said if Cerny has to miss a week, a month, or 6 months in order heal properly, get his body right, and move past it to continue his career then I’m all for it. But to say that the team needs to trade him is a little preposterous, a defenseman that plays his style on the blue line doesn’t exactly grow on trees. If say he were to get moved the team might spend years looking for Top 4 RD like him or having to overpay in a trade in which we’re already limited in assets.
This is what comes with the territory of being a hard nosed, physical, shot blocking defenseman in the NHL.
