    The PP and PK have been awful all year. My answer on the PP is don't get too cute…deliver as many shots as you can. With 3 Defencemen who can really shoot and handle the puck AND so much talent up front, there us no excuse. Jam up the sight-lines and fire away….but HIT THE NET! All they need is a couple to build confidence and then ice will be broken. As a hockey fan, I'm looking forward to the game AND another Sens victory.

    I think Ottawa needs a blockbuster trade, and I would look no further than the Pittsburgh Penguins. You want to make the top 6 better, get a veteran RHD, sacrifices need to be made, but look at the standings, and you see changes need to be done. PP can be fixed, as well as the PK, if we make these 2 trades, that also frees up a bit of cap space to re-sign Pinto.

    Jake Guentzel (If he agrees to sign an extension in Ottawa)
    Erik Karlsson (2.5M retained by Pittsburgh)

    To Pittsburgh:
    Josh Norris
    Jakob Chychrun
    2024 2nd round pick

    Could add a third team to retain more of EK's contract, what the price is, I dunno. How funny would it be to get back EK and in the end, Ottawa would have gotten Stutzle pretty much for free, using Norris (who they got in the EK trade to the Sharks) in the key piece to help get this deal done with Pittsburgh. Remember they're top guys down the middle are aging, so they need good youth down the middle. Use the 2nd round pick for retention (which we can get back in the 2nd trade) and give up Chychrun to get Guentzel.

    Now your top 6 looks like:
    Tkachuk-Grieg-Giroux
    Guentzel-Stutzle-Tarasenko

    Adding EK to the defense and those help your PP instantly and adds that needed veteran RHD.

    2nd trade to Philly

    To Ottawa: Garnet Hathaway
    2024 2nd round pick or Florida's 1st

    To Philly:
    Drake Batherson

    Now you help the PK, and your third line is full of PKers

    Joseph-Pinto-Hathaway

    That saves 2M on the cap, and use that to re-sign Pinto

    I think 7 times in a row means the odds are in Mtl's favour just based on chances. Our Achilese hesl is our goaltending, sub .900 save precentge is not NHL grade. I haven't felt comfortable with our goaltending as of late. Our main goalie has twice as many losses as his wins…. That speaks volumes 41 games into the season. I feel that we are playing the role of spoiler, and all we can achieve is a poorer spot in the draft lotery. B asically, I predict we'll see the same as last year where we played ourselves out of being able to get fist overall…
    Let's see how trading a Kastelic for a Pinto works out.
