Would like to repost this because the pregame glorifying of Frantz Jean irked me and I got downvoted about it in the GDT. Frantz has been one of the worst goalie coaches in the league by pretty much any metric over the last decade. Almost every goalie we’ve had under his tenure has played statisically and observably worse under him than they have when playing anywhere else. The only exceptions being:
Ben Bishop, who happened to play the exact style that Frantz tries to force on everyone, so it actually worked.
Dwayne Roloson, who was 70 years old and wouldnt have been influenced by coaching at that point.
And Vasy, who is a generational talent succeeding in spite of Frantz, who also has only played for us on the NHL level so there are no comparisons to be made
If it wasnt for the job security Bishop and now Vasy has seemingly provided by making him look good, Frantz would have been fired years ago, please dont gas this man up and make upper management think hes good.

Great win, good resilience. Also, please just Waive Sheary already, there are 10,000 better things we could be doing with that 2 million.
Well that was a rough one. And that schedule only gets more difficult as well. Clean it up boys.
A win, Vasy looking like himself again, a Kuchy hatty and 80 points what else could we ask for. Oh yeah that secondary assist on Points goal
A minor miracle they squeezed 4 points out of this road trip. Outside of the 3rd period against Detroit, they had less than 50 shots over the other 8 periods. Process is absolutely brutal right now outside of Vasy looking the sharpest he’s looked in well over a year. But still they all count the same. Wings have Philly and Vegas, and Leafs have back to back games against the Jets. Get these next two games and should be in a good spot going into the break.
Way more stressful than it needed to be but I will take the two points however they come. Especially against another wild card contender on the road. And now we get to come back home.
Damn that was a dirty game. Glad they nutted up (despite how sloppy it was) and got the win, especially with a Kuch hatty!
Flyers were playing some Slap Shot level hockey tonight. Hopefully we didn’t get too injured.

Big Win, the Flyers are no joke of a team, they were blocking shots like it was for the cup out there. Got an assist from Dallas beating Detroit tonight and we’ve undone some of the damage done by losing to them the other day. Now let’s just hope the offense keeps rolling against our arch enemy in Connor Ingram on Thursday.
Lots of bad stretches of Hockey in that game, but nice to grind out the W.
That game was way more stressful than that score line indicates. Glad they found a way to see it through!
That third Flyer goal was such a fluke but I like the way we played in the third to close this out. We’re stringing Ws together. No losing streaks!

Worth it? Absolutely
80 points this early in the season is insane. To put it in perspective, it would take Pastrnak (currently 3rd in points) about three weeks worth of games to catch up. Kuch and MacKinnon are on another level this season.
It really feels like the boys are hitting their stride including Vasy. Plus we’ve finally got some young players that are a net positive to the team. Feeling good about our playoff chances.
This is my favorite kind of win. Scrappy, a little dirty, and hard fought. It’s the kind of W we need more of

Vasy pulled out a save average for this game of .906 and I’ll happily TAKE IT !
The Flyers’ goalie Errson was a real flop for his team offering them a weak .800 save average tonight, 4 goals out of 20 SOG. ( I’m not counting the 2 SOG and 2 goals that we got when Errson had been pulled, and the Flyer net was empty.) He generated a horrid .727 save average, if you hold the two empty net goals against him.
It’s not probable at all that a team wins when their goalie is sooooo inadequate!
The Flyers average for allowing SOG to reach their goalie is improved with their work to suppress us tonight to 22 SOG.
The Flyers also scored more often per SOG tally, than their average indicated. They made their 3 goals with 32 SOG against us, and the numbers told us they’d need 34 SOG to get to 3 goals.
Our Lightning improved their ratio of goals to SOG, scoring 6 times with just 22 SOG this evening! I’m still disappointed with their puck possession time as well as their LOW SOG final tally.
Now we have 8 wins in our last 11 games and that’s strong! Let’s root for at least four more consecutive wins, so as to see a second, five game win streak in our ledger. I’m betting we’d all be ecstatic see a pattern of 5 wins and 1 loss repeat itself through the remainder of this season!

Winning the next two games would be huge as the teams around us have some tough games.
I saw today we had the 20th ranked strength of schedule so i feel really good right now
