  1. Leafs' Keefe after last night's loss: "We'll take a day off and get ready for the next one."
Bruins' Montgomery after last night's loss: "I have no answers. If I did I would have given it to the players. But it’s not acceptable, and we’re not going to accept it. We will change or things will change."

One team has been in first for pretty much several seasons straight no matter who is in their lineup and set an NHL record in points last season. One has lost its season series with both the Blackhawks and Senators who are 28th and 32nd in the league. Reasonably, an outsider would expect the responses to be switched. Not here.

One is actually a team that holds their players accountable to a certain nondiscriminatory level of performance and one is not. But it's not on the Leaf players (mostly). The core has delivered. If Bert and Domi had better seasons or the Leafs had some semblance of solid goaltending this picture would be entirely different. Who is the one deploying the players, poorly, in a perpetual game of musical chairs and shift mismanagement?

Fire Keefe. He has never instilled any kind of emotion into this club except to start yelling at the bench as a last resort this season. He has no intensity, no outward passion that rubs off on others. Ho hum go amongst "the process" and "everything will work out". Cannot motivate. Has run out of ideas. Says the exact same thing about the opposition and his team every pre and post game. His players play and talk like he acts; Totally nonchalant. Nothing critically matters. Everything is "part of the process".

What is "the process"? Does he know? Does he mean "the process of winning a cup"? Isn't this the guy that's won nothing and when he finally made it to the NHL he failed to report and then bounced around the AHL for a few seasons before calling it quits? Who is this guy? An OHL record holder with a big ego? What does he know about "the process"?

The process of experiencing groundhog day, sure. He's great at that.

    End this.

  2. What an embarrassment. I've seen some pretty bad leafs teams in my 60+ years of watching the leafs, but this team is such a disgrace to the organization. Absolutely NO attention to detail… NONE! And it's not so much the losses, but HOW and WHEN they lose. And it's not all the players fault either… Management and coaching plays a good part. You can't make the playoffs with one line on your team.

Lack of passion from the players in general is just so frustrating to watch (and no, skating around chasing the puck like a madman and putting yourself out of position isn't "passion"). The laziness and lackadaisical play by players like Nylander (now that he has his big money and NTC) is completely unacceptable. Taking a slow scenic skate back to the bench when the puck is moving toward your zone is just arrogant and insulting to the team as a whole. The D-core of this team (and D-coverage in general by all players) looks completely discombobulated. Honestly, I've never seen anything like it in the 60+ years I've been watching this team. And here I thought nothing could top the terrible D-ZONE play of the Kessel years.

These players have stopped playing for this coach, period. But we all know Treliving will wait until the season is lost before he replaces the coach (if ever). This season is a right-off because you have players unwilling to play play-off style hockey to get into the playoffs (arrogance, I imagine) and unwilling to listen to the coach re d-zone coverage, a coach who isn't willing to make the necessary changes to wake his players up (benching a 4th line center is just laughable!), and a GM who refuses to has already made some very questionable acquisitions and will likely wait until it's too late to make the necessary lineup changes, and a president who can't seem to admit that his "Shanaplan" is a complete failure.

  3. Well worth it finally a little passion. The Leafs should have gotten more power plays at the start of the game witch would have put the game out of reach.

  4. The team just flat out sucks. They dont know / dont care to play the right way, and at this point it's obviously too late for a coaching change. This seasons a wash. Theyre going nowhere this post season, if they even make it there.

  5. Ha Ha leafs don't like a slap shot into an empty net at the end of the game. Cheap shot by overrated Reilley. Maple laughs won't even make the playoffs.

  6. The Leafs need to be sellers at the trade deadline, they have to many missing pieces.

  7. The Sens are a joke😂,that was there Stanley cup final, they won’t play anymore this season😂 —— them, and there fans.

  8. Brutal high stick not called AGAIN on Mcabe. WTH.
Now if we can get the rest of the team to buy in to the physicality like Reilly we're good to go.

  9. I know Samsonov is average at best but why did Jones start this game, why did Samsonov need the night off was he tired from the heavy workload? (sarcasm) The Leafs have Leaf Nation and they receive all the accolades, they participate in outdoor games and even outdoor practices. Fans lineup at rediculous hours to catch a glimpse of their hockey hero’s and they continually deliver a shit product but the fans continue to support them, it’s a phenomenon that can’t be easily explained. Think about it people they don’t deserve your undying support they are an embarrassment around the NHL but they make a lot of money for a team that hasn’t made it to the Stanley Cup final since 1967.

  10. Blah blah blah…Same excuses from the Captain!!
Just a bunch of over paid pretty boys! AKA soft team!

  11. Guys…how do you always lose against the worst teams, against divisional rivals! Do you just not care enough? Rielly went too far but at least he showed he cared! I just don't get it….🤷🤦🙄

  12. Poor situational mistakes is a recurring theme and it seems like Keefe’s system is vulnerable to these occurring. Maybe it is time to try something different.

  13. Really like Domi. Hasn’t produced yet to expectations but he would benefit greatly playing on the wing with a good two way play driving centre. Reilly truly is the real captain of this group

  14. When Morgan reily did that after the game good for him tough lost boys let’s get the win next game like come on boys

  15. 😂😂 are you seriously that hurt over a slap shot with 5 second left. That shows your weakness. Real man would go out and dominate the next game not be a cry baby. And did Doni say they are weak in there own end lol is he serious our defence is way worse then the sens let’s be real here. Rielly should be playing with heart all game not 5 seconds left. WE NEED TO GET RID OF KEEFE HES THE REAL PROBLEM WORSE COACH. With him behind the bench we will not win.
