Sens are in that floating goalie zone right now that they had between Emery and Anderson and Tugnutt and Lalime. I feel like every team has periods like that. Except maybe the Rangers

I don’t see what Chychrun can do that Chabot can’t. I don’t see the inverse being true. Chabot brings more pace. He also brings brain farts, but so does Chychrun.

Factoring value in a trade at this moment (Chychrun > Chabot), and potential core-shakeup candidates, where roster position of strength is our C/LD positions (Norris > Chabot; with Pinto and Grieg sorting out the middle six), I don’t see Chabot being the piece to move.

I’d think all the Brady-haters would want Norris to be shipped out as well, considering they’re BFFs.

Norris and Chychrun are the only core guys I see getting traded honestly , Pagnotta recently stated on the Coming in Hot podcast that the Flames and Sens had discussions about a Chychrun for Weegar swap , curious to see if they pick-up talks close to the deadline.

Norris is a guy I’d look to trade for a hard nosed , tough to play top 6 guy (Konecny maybe?) but in theory he could be Tarasenko’s replacement on the wing so I doubt he gets traded before Chychrun.

Korpisalo is an echo of pro scouting under Pierre Dorion

I want everyone to stop talking about trading a defenseman, Chych, Chaboi, and Sandy are all staying.

For all the people who voted ‘No’ on the goalie question, who else can the Sens realistically bring in that’s going to be a clear upgrade over Korpi/Forsberg?

I’m not saying I’ve been happy with the goaltending, and I was skeptical about the Korpi signing from the second it was announced, but there’s no quick fix out there

Honestly I feel trading Norris or Chychrun would be the best bet if we had too

Thankfully those fans aren’t in charge , Staios has it covered from here Ian ,it’s all good 👍 😀

Chabot is not the amazing player he was. Unsure he ever truly was at the NHL level to be honest; but if indeed he was, he regressed something fierce and quick! Perhaps injuries or what, but it is painful to watch him last two seasons… seeing several games in the Q and his incredible performance at the juniors was something to behold, but I fear that is where he peaked…
    If any GM
Could take him and Andlauer has to eat 50% of his salary it would be worth it.
Giroux wants and deserves a cup in his hometown and while we missed the chance with Alfie and the late Murray, I do not want to watch it happen again with Giroux.

Wanted to make a big post on here, but figured I’d get shat on..

With that said, we 100% cannot justify paying Chab that money over time. He’s been surpassed by Sanderson in just over a year and a half. We’ve also seen that he’s not quite the #1 D-man anymore. The mis-cues, giveaways, not being able to hit the broad side of a barn. An easy decision to make, but the contract would be tough for another team to absorb (although there are a few teams who would probably like a do-over on their draft pick from that class lol).

Man I understand why Chabot is so low here but that doesn’t help the feeling that it sucks. He was our only bright spot for so many horrible years. Would love to see him rally back with our squad. He needs to figure out what’s going on with his game right now though.
