There absolutely is. Paying for the retainment from Washington would be pointless if there isn’t something else being cooked up.
My thinking (maybe wishful thinking) is that there’s something to do with Guentzel. There were reports saying he could be traded as soon as today, and Pittsburgh waived Matthew Phillips to clear a roster spot it seems. So Vegas’ free cap space + those rumors seem to indicate there’s maybe something there. Seems like it’s down to Vegas or canucks at this point too

One move I thought Vegas could make was Tarasenko, but Florida just nabbed him. 🤦🏻♂️
Fully expect another move to come though, likely Guentzel as the big fish, and maybe a couple more bottom-6 guys.
