So Florida get better. To go with Vancouver, Dallas, Winnipeg and Vegas who have all improved over the last couple weeks.
Seemed like he had a lot of control on this one.
Not a surprise. He has an NTC, lives in Florida in the off-season, of course he chooses to go there. Bummer that it seems like they’re practically getting him for free.
I don’t think he’s a fit for our system anyway, but I hope this lights a fire under Don’s ass to get Guentzel. With Florida’s offense we do NOT want to fuck around should we meet them again in the playoffs.

Obviously, the return is partially because of the NTC. But it gets frustrating year after year seeing players get traded for weak picks while we’re talking about moving high level prospects.

People need to keep in mind that many of the big players with NTCs and NMCs get to pick their destination. The reason the trades look so one sided and we can get caught in the « seriously we couldn’t trade two weak picks » line of thinking is because they never wanted to come here in the first place.
It doesn’t matter what our FO offers if the players with clauses don’t want to play in Raleigh. It’s not always our FO being « cheap. »

Tarasenko was the minimum of what I was hoping to get at the deadline. So obviously we are getting something better.
