Dude sounds like he’s ready to jump into a starting role. Imagine our D when Hunter Brzustewicz, Poirier, & Artyom Grushnikov are ready to be called up.

Sounds like a good call on Conny’s part!

That’s a pretty positive review.

Great insight by him as usual. When I read the return, I was encouraged. We received an NHLer, a first that will probably be later, and probably a second for a guy that wanted out. The next 3 years, we have a decent amount of picks in the first 3 rounds. Not all of them are going to hit…but you miss 100% of the picks you don’t pick. -Brett Gretzky

Wonder if he paired with Pachal in the minors at one point

I have faith in Conroy. Let’s see how this all plays out.

I see acquiring Miromanov as being similar to acquiring Pachal and Hanley on waivers. Dallas and Vegas already had very good, very deep defensive groups before acquiring Hanifin or Tanev. The player who is #7 on these teams may be the fourth or fifth best defense man on a lot of other teams. With how depleted the Flames are from trades, they certainly are better options than the bottom half of our defense core.
These teams are in a similar position to what the Flames were in recent years. Just because Valimaki and Kulak couldn’t crack our lineup doesn’t mean they aren’t legitimate NHL players.
