Well there goes all the toughness we wanted this season.
Guentzel’s cap hit is $6m, slightly more than we had available before waivers clear…even if we don’t get him, this gives us a lot of flexibility to go and get guys without having to give up extra in return for retained salary. I’m guessing at the very least another depth defenseman and maybe another depth forward – definitely depth Ds out there better than TDA.

What if we’re getting both Geuntzel and Buchnevich? Geuntzel comes in just with picks/prospects. But someone has to go out to get Buch I assume. Necas? Would be bittersweet but I could live with it. As long as it’s not Seth.

Making space for Buchnevich. Maybe that’s why there has been no noise around him.
Could easily see TDA and Lemieux getting claimed, not sure about Raanta.

Interesting? I feel like claiming TDA maybe a threat but then again if teams haven’t bit on him with salary retention maybe not. I like him in the role of 7th D.
Still skeptical with how tight the trade market is that we won’t just end up as runners up, but I like having options to do something and try and add.

I don’t understand the people who would rather see necas go over jarvy. Love them both but necas has a much higher ceiling.
All are good players and the gamble better be worth it.
I can easily imagine a scenario in which all three are claimed and then NO deal happens and we just gave up our depth for free.
