I’m in danger
I think we’ll make it but barely by the skin of our teeth, and it also depends if/who we pickup and address our weaknesses…. Who knows, after losing yesterday, we respond and can go on a tear to close out and Toronto starts to choke– lots can happen
I was laughing when moneypuck had us at 98% to make it a month ago.
No one to blame to ourselves. Losses to Ottawa, Washington, Philly, Buffalo, and Calgary in the last two weeks. If you get 7-8 out of a possible 10 points in that stretch, we are comfortably a playoff team. Getting only 1 is laughably bad. Not to mention games dropped against Chicago, CBJ, Ottawa, Buffalo and Arizona earlier in the season.
One of the more forgettable seasons we’ve had in the last 10 years. This squad just doesn’t have the same magic as the other ones.
They really look like they’re content to go golfing this spring. Sucks.
Definitely not making it. That’s been pretty painfully clear for at least a month now. We’ve lost just about every major 4 point swing game that we’ve needed to win and continue to lose to bottom feeders.
Only way we make the playoffs is if every other team competing for it shits the bed harder than we are. Hard to imagine.
If we don’t make it or even lose in the first round it’ll for sure clear up the comment sections a bit to leave room for “real” fans. Not the fair weather fans we’ve picked up over the last couple of years
At this point I’d rather miss playoffs. If we miss then I hope that will actually wake JBB and cooper up and show that whatever we’ve been doing the past 2 years hasn’t been working

What happened to the « they’re tired from 3 finals runs in a row, a 1st round exit will allow them to rest up » crowd?
Has there ever been a top 3 points leader on a team that hasn’t made the playoffs, I wonder.
Meh sucks but if you didn’t see this by the all star break you’re kidding yourself. I know that the early season is hard to really count but if we had banked points instead of hovering around .500 (I say it like it’s so simple), we wouldn’t be in this mess. 3 months of .500 digs a deep hole especially in this division.
I’ve said this before, we rushed Vasy back on a year we were never going to go all the way. The team we have now is not a cup worthy team. It’s just not. He needed more time to recover and we should have split his load when he did come back. But now here we are. There are sparks of life but we just are missing the grit and quality goaltending. When you’re a the top for several years, there’s always going to be a few years of stumbling and growing pains – that’s where we are now. I still love this team and will continue to support them no matter what…but I didn’t anticipate a long season this year.

Team hasn’t looked great lately, but if anyone has earned my trust to get to the playoffs it’s these guys. They’ll pull it off.
