Hope it works out for both teams, very convenient for Kuzy to be heading to Charlotte with the Bears.
Malcolm Subban traded to Columbus by St Louis for future considerations, which more often than not end up as being for nothing.
Time to get another jersey from the Caps as my Kuzy's jersey is gonna look pretty bad 🙂
A good video to do after the deadline is looking at what each team’s salary would be without retention. Everyone looks at Vegas with LTIR but the hurricanes have 6.6 million being retained from other teams.
At the very least, Canes now have all kinds of options and some redundancy against injuries. Last year they were DOA due to injuries and still managed to get to ECF…where they got "Bobbed". Now they are at least trying, maybe it works, maybe not, but kudos to them for trying 🤘
I was rooting for a good draft pick, but now I actually want the Kraken to make the playoffs, Playoff Eberle is so fun to watch. He wears the C, to me.
At least the Canes will have a better chance at shootouts until the playoffs.

I like the Guentzel deal not too comfortable with Kuznetsov. Even with Washington retaining 1/2 the salary I don’t think he’s worth that much money < .5 points per game this season & considering his history. Picking him up is a big gamble.
I am excited for a Kuznetsov trade, I'm just worried who they trade for him

Of course i hope Kuzi can regain some of his game. But to be frank, he looked utterly terrible this year and pretty poor the last 2 years before that. He has been a burden for the caps for a while. Maybe it works better for the canes.
Well it was cool meeting Kuzy at practice Tuesday. Glad I got that opportunity.
Hopefully, Kuznetzov finds his game again and goes bonkers in the playoffs like he did in our Cup run! More importantly, with whatever he is going through in his personal life, I know we all wish him well on overcoming that!

It's a shame, Granlund and Duclair seemed to play great together.
The Caps did good dealing players that they couldnt give away before the season started. And they did good getting guys to teams that are in for the cup this season.
I'm glad Duclair is going back to a competitive team. His talents were wasted in SJ and I'm not sure why FL traded him in the 1st place.
I thought the Canucks would have tried to acquire another Pettersson to their team. They've already got two of them already 😂.
I was kind of looking forward to Kuzy playing one game in Hershey :)…but glad he has moved on to a team that has some pals for him to play with. I hope he finds his talents again.
Kuznetsov has been one of the worst players in the NHL for two years. Why an earth would the Canes want him?

Caps aquiring lots of picks. Nice little retool. Been waiting for them to do this for about 4 years now. Better late then never i guess. I get trying to keep talent there to help Ovi chase Gretzky but theyve been needing to get younger for the last few years. Finally good to see a youth movement and stockpiling picks. Sets us up well for the next couple years. Hopefully Lapierre and McMichael continue to develop.
