Was considered a huge move because Selanne and Kariya “finally” had a center.
The 06 Ducks had Teemu, Federov, both the Niedermayers, Chris Kunitz, Getzlaf, Corey Perry, JSG and Ilya Bryzgalov. They’re the most underrated ducks team in my lifetime imo

Came here to say that Innovative 1100 stick he’s holding was my favorite back in the day. Had maybe 4-5 of them. Wish that company stuck around. I think they eventually became warrior but I loved Innovative. Nice twig Federov.

Well, Red Wings fans were very bitter.
From my understanding it was a huge mess while he was there. The hype was big, and he played fine, but I remember hearing a story on one of the Hockey podcasts that he was a terrible influence on the room.
It was apparently so bad that Burke sent Getzlaf and Perry down to the AHL to keep them away from him until he could deal him elsewhere. Dude was apparently going out partying till late in game days and shit like that.
