    Between the stadium series choke, the blown leads this year, and the utterly pedestrian effort in a game where winning puts them in the driver’s seat, I just don’t think this roster has any killer instinct. A country club mentality which is a far cry from what they were under Trotz, for all his faults.

    Fam… I’m not seeing it.

    I mean we may (if we are lucky) sneak into the postseason… maybe. But there is no way we are making a deep Cup push the way we are. We will in all likelihood be knocked out round one.

    We are not built for the playoffs, and constantly running it back with this team is proving it. We need to move forward, not hold still.

    With games like that against the Sabres and kings, they’re not going anywhere if they make the playoffs. Would still be nice though

    All-around embarrassing performance tonight, this team really needs to get its shit together.

    Our metric for success over the streak was primarily shots on net. We had dick tonight. Ilya’s seemingly return to his old self in the first period was for nothing. Let’s figure it out. Again, passing was sloppy, many blown opportunities and turnovers with misplaced passes.

    For what it’s worth, Detroit and Philadelphia are also losing. Tampa isn’t, but at least they’re beating the Rangers, and do any of us really expect Tampa to miss the playoffs?

    Hope they can keep it together and make the playoffs, but honestly it’s wishful thinking they make it past the first round anyways

    Bad game that is no doubt going to bring out knee jerk reactions about the sky falling etc etc (some already are in this thread).

    Far from ideal, but we also got help tonight from other games so..not worst case scenario, even if it’s far from best case scenario. Sky isn’t falling yet.
