I really have to wonder why NHL coaches in general come up with such ridiculous line combinations when things are not going well or in practice. Guys who have no business on certain lines are elevated for no reason other than throwing something against the wall to see if it sticks.
Why are we breaking up Horvat and Barzal? Why are we not putting Pelech and Pulock together? I know Lee is a traffic cone at this point, and the only check Engvall knows is a paycheck but jesus. Fasching is nowhere near good enough to play on the second line, and Palmieri is no longer top line material.
We should ride out the rest of the year and see what can be done in the offseason. We are still technically in the hunt at this point. Once we are mathematically eliminated if it comes to that then try crazy line combos.
