Ironic that if this was a Rempe hit on a Florida player, the (few) panthers fans would be absolutely pissed off. They and their players love to be dirty and dish it out, but they can never take it

Not disagreeing that FLA (and BOS) have gotten away with bad hits. Comparing Rempe however is a bad example. The kid deserved suspensions for other dirty hits this year and received nothing.
This was more akin to the rempe hit on the nj devil player where he got the game misconduct but not a suspension. Didn’t mean to crush a guys head into the boards but still did. I think the refs just missed this as watching it it just looked like a body check. I didn’t think either hit was dirty just unfortunate. Sometimes slowing it down in slow motion feels very different then in real time

They’re falling, they rarely call this. Rempe lined a guy up and lead with an elbow to the head.

There is no way Reinhart knew Rempe’s head would be there when he made that spin move. He had his elbow out to brace for a hit and try and crunch Rempe into the boards, not elbow him in the head.

I watching it live, it looked purely accidental. Watching the replay it does look like he is trying to impede Gustaffson by sticking out his arm, which subsequently hits him in the face.
Here’s the thing about probably 99.99% of these hits. No one is intentionally trying to hit a guy on the chin with an elbow, they are just trying to finish checks. Rempe said he didn’t even know he caught a piece of seganthaler. He said he thought he missed the check entirely and got all glass. Same with this hit, I doubt Reinhardt is trying to crush gustaffsons head into the boards. He’s just trying to stop him from getting away.
It’s a good thing we have this post that is identical to the last 486 that have been posted this month to tell us how terrible Florida is
